Perhaps they belonged to a Westboro Baptist Church type denomination, which I suppose could justify the involvement of social services. Its really difficult to tell what the government was thinking since the sources presented would likely be biased against the government.

But, based on the information given, its possible that the government has taken the charve that educating a child in a religious faith is child abuse (one made not infrequently by some atheists) rather seriously. Disturbing if true.

The state sponsored religion in Norway is PROTESTANT which by the way is a sect of Christianity. 82 % of the population list their faith as the state sponsored one.If you do not legally state otherwise it is assumed.
Why in the world would a government agency target a Christian family? The family is claimed to be Pentecostal(a sect of Christianity also).
The principal who filed the initial complaint about the two girls even admitted they were intelligent creative children and she did not believe they were being abused just that they were too vocal about their faith.
Somethin is VERY fishy about this whole scenario.

I am not generalizing anything just saying that the STATE sponsored religion is PROTESTANT which is a type of Christianity. The family is alleged to be Pentecostal which is ALSO Christianity.

Lutheranism is a type of Protestant church.
As far as the particular type and their beliefs it is not really known. We would have to research that aspect of the Lutheran Church of Norway.
My point is they are both Christian. Its not like an atheistic or communist regime targeting citizens ,like China did the Falun Gong religion. It is an alleged Christian country targeting its own citizens.

Western secularization will ultimately pose a greater threat than ISIS.

The page link seems to be an imperative to the government agency rather than a statement of what has happened.
Commas are so helpful… thanks for the clairfication as I couldn’t figure it out!

I agree. I would like to know more about this situation, than what’s written here.
Apparently, the school principal wanted the agency to check out the family because the girls were telling people that God punishes sin. Apparently this is what caused the Child Protective Agency to consider that the children were being abused psychologically. The agency has begun adoption proceedings even before a court has ruled on custody. Apparently the agency is hoping to present to the court an accomplished fact (i.e., the children have already been placed into approved socially responsible families) and so render the whole question moot.

This is going to come to the US. With the passage of gay marriage, and the determination that adoption agencies can’t discriminate against gay couples, the ground has been layed. The natural connection between parents and children has been broken. I would be surprised if there isn’t a public debate of whether parents have a natural right to raise their own children and teach them as they will. The most liberal part of the country will argue that there is no right to raise your biological children.

This really is an attack against Christianity because the family is the foundation of Christianity, and the Church has historically been the greatest defender of the family. It is the most basic image within Christianity, and it’s destruction is the destruction of the idea of Christianity.

I too question the article. It seems too fishy, on the surface.

It appears that because the Romanian embassy is becoming involved the children will be allowed to see their parents for 2 hrs while the social service agency records and analyzes it!

The issue not only involves their religion but that the form of discipline used on the children is illegal. Corporal punishment involving spanking is against the law in Norway.Any type of punishmnent involving forcing a child to assume a certain position(standing in a corner) is also illegal. It is also illegal to use any type of discipline that may cause emotional trauma( saying Santa wont bring you toys if you are naughty or taking away a favorite TV show or video game.
Sounds like a wonderful country lol.The mafia loves it because they can engage in human trafficking with pretty much no restrictions The laws make it impossible for them to get caught.

Thanks for that. English subtitles are available by hitting “CC”.

It appears most of the children abducted are immigrants. If you do a web search there are dozens of cases even one where the family was so desperate they hired a private detective and he kidnapped the child back!
The saddest one though is a little boy who was taken from his mom because he did not weigh what the charts said he should. I think she was told to go back to USA and she could have more kids! She posted all the legal papers online but of course in a foreign language.
Many people have actually videotaped the encounters with Barnevernet official who always arrive with militaristic police officers who stand there with cold icy stares while these mothers cry in anguish.
I am beginning to think my original assessment was true and that these children are being trafficked. Someone is either paying to adopt them or they are being sold to the sex trade.

Perhaps Eastern Europeans who still value their Christian culture should rethink moving to Western Europe for better economic opportunity. I know there are not many economic opportunities in Romania but perhaps it is better to be poorer economically than to have one’s children taken away.

Prayers for this family!

Good grief no irish history is something ive already been told I know nothing off

Can one of our Norweigian friends please verify this story? I have incredulous folks who refuse to believe it without a secular source reporting on it.

I think the above link to a video is from a secular Romanian TV show. But, yes, I too was hoping Norwegian posters would be able to comment.

I used to know a Bodnariu family here in PA. They are supporting this campaign on their Facebook page. I don’t know if they are related to this Norwegian Bodnariu family, but the Norwegian family has visited the US.
