Church teaching is not ANY “ism.”

Church teaching is what the Church teaches and what we are required to submit to.

Submit, as in *humbly *open to learning WHY what the Church teaches is true.

If I’m reading this right, then I vigorously commend you to reconsider this statement. The Catholics ( and most other people) I have met here at CAF have been exemplary people.

There is one article from Vatican II that could be in conflict with Catholic tradition. It is the belief that Jews are not to be held responsible for the death of Christ.

The idea that they are to blame comes from these verses:

Matthew 27:11-26

Mark 15:1-15

Luke 23:13-25

John 18 and 19:1-16

Unfortunately, to level the playing field, I can’t find anything regarding verses or any piece of information regarding Jews being innocent of the affair. So, if I can’t find anything of it, then where does it come from?

Some people state that they rely solely on the historical basis, but that would then mean that they’re picking which verses to follow and which shouldn’t be. —(for example: see more information on the relationship between homosexuality and Christianity).

What do other Councils of the Catholic Church state regarding Jews?

No other Council of the Catholic Church has spoken on this issue. Vatican II was the first.

As to verses, I offer this;

Romans 11

25 For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.
26 And so all Israel should be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
27 And this is to them my covenant: when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, indeed, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are most dear for the sake of the fathers.
