Not bowing during certain part of Mass

Bow of the head at the name of “Jesus,” “Mary,” the Trinity, and the name of the day’s saint. Also before receiving Communion and at the final blessing.

Profound bow (at the hip) during the Creed. Also, if you are standing during the consecration, profound bow when the priest genuflects. Also, if the Roman Canon is used, at “In humble prayer we ask you, almighty God.”

Genuflect during the Creed on the Annunciation and Christmas.

Not in the GIRM but customary: Profound bow before and after being incensed.

Why do most people not do these? My guesses:

1. Bowing requires taking your eyes off the “show.”
2. It requires doing something. For some reason, there’s a bias in favor of inaction at most OF Masses.

You were ok until you wrote #1 & 2, which shows a lack of charity toward and supposition of motives of one’s fellow Catholics. This is the type of thing that gives traditionalists a bad rap. You could have made your statements without the digs.
