Both Peter and Judas looked Christ in the face and rejected Him. The difference between them is that when Peter felt remorse for what he did, he sought forgiveness and to be reconciled with Christ.

On the other hand, when Judas felt remorse, he deemed himself unforgivable and rejected the idea that God could forgive someone like him. He gave in to utter despair, self hatred, and instead of seeking reconciliation, he refused to repent and took his own life.

It is this persistence in a refusal to repent and the rejection of God’s grace that was the unforgivable sin.

My friend, if you are still breathing and repent of your sin, then forgiveness is waiting for you.

God’s mercy is astounding. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
