That is an example of Semitic hyperbole , a device often used by Jesus .

The words Jesus spoke at the Last Supper do not fit into that category .

His words at the Last Supper are clear , plain and unmistaken .

You are correct, this was an example of hyperbole. That information could easily be obtained by reading a footnote from a bible, searching the past posts here ,a quick search on google etc…
Harder to research is the word Transubstantiation. This is the area of difficulty that you have not been able to overcome. Your failure to grasp this leads to the disobedient position that you are pushing. The Church , within her power of Authority that was given to her by Christ, has given us the Dogma we are discussing .
At the moment of Consecration of the bread Transubstantiation occurs, we now have the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of the Risen Lord complete and intact. A moment later the miracle is repeated again with the wine changing into the Precious Blood!
We now can receive either the Host or the Blood and be assured that we have followed his wishes.

Here is another interesting twist. When Presanctified Gifts (the reserved Eucharist) is served on Good Friday, in the Latin Church (1955 Pope Pius XII), or in the eastern Catholic churches at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifs, the Precious Blood is not reserved. The Latin Church does not use the Chalice on Good Friday communion, but the eastern Catholic churches may.

Christ’s blood, soul, divinity, and personality become present by the inseparable connection that they have with his body: fully present in the presanctified Gifts (even without the wine).

no it is not. Catholics do not ‘self-administer’ communion. Who gives us communion? The priests (or the extraordinary ministers, and THEY receive from the priest.)

Christ did not say, "yo, people. Every one of you come gather round the altar, lift up the cup, lift up the host, say the words, and you ALL ‘consecrate’ and THEN you ALL ‘eat’ the bread and ‘drink’ the wine, because that is the ‘plain English’ and grammatical construct I gave to you.

I did not say that Christ was only offering communion to the apostles. I said it was only necessary for the priest to actually receive both species. Would you care to cite the passage in the catechism or canon law which says that the priest is NOT the only person who MUST receive both species?

Can I cite tradition when for 1500 years the cup was NOT withheld from the laity?

Well I am new, I always receive both when available, because I can I guess. Germs don’t worry me too much. I guess enough people do at our church, because if I don’t sit near the front on Sundays, there won’t be wine left. Of course, that is at the noon Mass, which is busiest, I think at the 8:30 Mass there might not be such a problem…but anyway. I guess enough people at our church receive both.

I would like to see the use of individual communion cup instead of using the challis. At the present moment, if I hear lots of coughs and sniffles then I will only receive the wafer.

I have no problem with transubstantiation , and it does have any effect upon what I have said , or rather what Jesus has said .

" Take this all of you and eat of it " and " Take this all of you and drink from it " .

We are commanded by Jesus to take and eat the consecrated bread and to take and drink the consecrated wine .

A command that is so simple and obvious to understand .

You’re an Eastern Christian, where these kinds heresies did not trouble you. This was a problem (and apparent is again) with the Latin Church so the Latin Church took steps to correct it, which was withholding the cup.
