Not enough evidence sir

Jesus consistently acted and spoke as if He was God within a culture that could not tolerate this kind of thing. If He was not God then he would have been a bad person or at least a madman, not a rebel or a liberal.
However this was not the same in the Old Testament.

Russell’s major work was a book on mathematics.

He should have been aware that there could not be an infinite past, and therefore there had to be an absolute beginning to the universe from nothing which required God.

That’s enough evidence.

The Old Testament is the history of a people trying to understand their Creator and their relationship with Him. The Incarnation (Jesus the Christ) is the response of God, in the fullness of time, to reveal the true nature of God to His creations.

Care to explain? And which god among the millions of gods ever made? We may go further to: What god and religion are the truth?

I see. :o

Any human made gods are fake. The true God in not made. He is who always was.

The true God is the one that corresponds to reality.

Religions, as they are humans response to God, will have incomplete descriptions of Him. And some of them will have inaccurate descriptions of Him.

Jesus, proclaimed and demontrated through his words and deeds that he was the true God.

This is an example of the greatest evidence against the existence of God, the hypocrisy of those who claim to speak in His name.

For many unbelievers, it is not so much God that they reject, as it is you.

Give me a man who has the humility to admit the things which he does not know, and I will earnestly listen to him. If I choose not to embrace his claims, I will at least admire the manner in which he presents them. The first attribute of Christ that you should seek to emulate is humility.

Why do Christians always think there can not be an infinite past? An infinite past is not a problem, and even if it were, why would that mean that there had to be a god?

Same can be applied to anyone against anyone. :o
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Sure. No argument with you there. 🤷

Well, yes and no.

It’s the same God, yesterday, today and forever.

But take this analogy: just as we parent differently to a 3 year old than a 13 year old, so, too did God parent us differently in the OT vs the NT.

I have heard many, many arguments by atheists for why they don’t believe in God. Some are more compelling than others. To wit: the problem of evil is, indeed, a very good argument against God’s existence (one, however, that can be refuted, but that is fodder for another thread of course.)

However, the above argument is, frankly, ridiculous. That there are Christian hypocrites = God doesn’t exist.

Not so much. :nope:

This may sound simplistic and “presumptous,” but I (if I was God, which, of course, I am not:p) would have said:

“The thing is, there WAS evidence-----you simply chose to ignore it or not consider it.” 👍

There ya go. LOL.

You can’t see why there can not be an infinite past? 😊
In that case you’ll never understand why there had to be a god. 🤷

A falacious ad hominem. Where is the hyprocrisy? Where is the lack of humility?

Perhaps you could walk me through why you think there can not be an infinite past.

All the arguments that atheists make against the existence of God have nothing to do with why they do not believe in Him, such arguments are merely the way in which they rationalize not believing in Him. They aren’t really arguing against Him, they’re arguing against you. Their actual reasons are much simpler than any arguments that they might make. They do not believe in God because they abhor self-righteousness, hypocrisy, and injustice. These are the real reasons why unbelievers reject God, and most sadly of all, it’s not really God that they reject, but rather those who claim to speak in His name.

People form their beliefs first, and only later seek to justify them. I reiterate, the greatest evidence that an atheist has against the existence of God, is those who claim to speak in His name.

😦

Please explain then why many will claim there is no God. How is this an argument against any believer?

Bare assertion. Where is your evidence to support this claim?

I don’t think many atheists will agree with this assertion.

Any atheists here wish to prove me wrong?

Some, perhaps. But most atheists would not proclaim that which you have maintained here. I have been in dialogue with many, many atheists and have never heard one of them, ever, proclaim to me what you have said.

You may be speaking for yourself, and I don’t deny you your position, as it applies to you. 🤷
People form their beliefs first, and only later seek to justify them.
Some do. But there are quite a few atheists who have used reason alone to conclude that God does not exist. 🤷
Some I reiterate, the greatest evidence that an atheist has against the existence of God, is those who claim to speak in His name.
This may be true for some folks who do not care about truth. But my experience is that most atheists really do care about the truth, and it’s not that they find Christians to be big meanies that makes them not believe in God, but rather that they haven’t found any compelling evidence to believe in his existence.

I love you!!!

Do you know how rare it has been for me to read/hear a Christian who don’t accuse atheists of just being immoral, ignorant, unintelligent, stubborn, lazy, or having misguided anger with their fathers?

You deserve a medal.
