In Catholic elementary school, I was part of a group of girls who dressed like clowns and put on skits for the little kids after Mass to help them explain the Gospel. I don’t know if that is on the same level as this.

If it was after Mass, then it would’ve been on safer ground. It’s not acceptable during Mass.

Most people who go to mass don’t need to be “sold” on attending with novelties.

I think this guy got in trouble for this, anyway.

I understand your distress. Do you think that you’re going to pull out of the Catholic Church and go to one that is less informal?
Hi Tracy,

If I can presume to speak for someone else…of course he wouldn’t pull out of the Catholic Church and go to one that is “less informal.” Catholicism isn’t a denomination and that kind of church-hopping isn’t an option for us.

What exactly is informal about the Church anyhow…? Supersoakers, high-fives, dancing and hugging are abberations and not the standard for Catholic worship.
Feel free to answer for me Claire. 🙂

I’m not going anywhere as long as Papa Benedict stays the course he’s on. I love him very much. 😉

I am totally speechless, words fail me! Horrible doesn’t even begin to describe it.
