Not moving away from an immoral video, a mortal sin?

Out of curiosity in the internet, I watched a music video where there was a woman in bikini making sexy moves while the male singer is singing.

I never had lustful thoughts about the girl but I never ran away from this video and indeed looked at her sexy body and I was even curious about the other scenes on what she is gonna do.

Now I am worried that I might have committed mortal sin or just venial sin?

I know I was disobedient to God because of my curiosity and did not flee from these occasion of sin.

These temptations are always presenting themselves to our eyes …since you didn’t act on it, I don’t think you sinned.

I won’t even look any more at these things, especially on the internet.

“Curious”, you say. Yes, that’s a sin. Sinful curiosity is when one pursues knowledge of a thing which is sinful, whether it is intrinsically sinful or it is sinful in the circumstances in which it is presented.

In the example you gave, the woman in bikini was dancing in a way directly intended to incite lust in the viewers. Even if you believe that you didn’t have “lustful thoughts” about her, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t wrong to watch the video.

You participated in the woman’s sin by watching her.
You showed some degree of lustful interest by “[looking] at her sexy body” with “curiosity”.
You satisfied sinful curiosity by seeking knowledge of “the other scenes” and “what she [was] gonna do”.
You willfully allowed yourself to be in a fairly dangerous occasion of sin.

For all of these reasons, yes, I think that it was a sin. I cannot determine whether it was mortal or venial; only you can do that. However, the sin itself was grave matter, and you should definitely confess this sin as soon as possible, with all of the detail that you did in this post.

1. Stop watching the video, if you have not, as it is an obviously placing you in a near occasion of sin. If it is tempting you as described then I would reckon that it is affecting your subconscious mind in a negative way you may not be able to fully perceive.
2. Unless you have acted upon this temptation, no mortal sin has been committed. Perhaps venial… I can’t say. I would recommend bringing any such temptation up in your next confession, I have struggled with this as well. Being conscientious of things like this will help you to overcome any proclivity to sin because of it.

Look, God created womens’ bodies to be beautiful, and he created you to be sexually attracted to them.

However, when you want someone selfishly, i.e. for your own pleasure, this is a sin–it’s called lust. It doesn’t help that the girl in the video was demeaning herself… But you are still called to be able to appreciate the someone’s beauty–body and person—without selfish motives. It’s good and holy to be attracted to women; women are beautiful creations. But this also should go hand and hand with wanting what’s best for them. Not with wanting them for yourself.

The girl in the video is the one who is sinning. She knows she’s in mortal sin.
You were watching out of curiosity then stepped away, which is a good thing.
