Nothing is hopeless for God. For those who feel hopeless

Nothing is hopeless for you or me. No matter what you are going through nothing is too difficult for God. So don’t give up no matter how hopeless it may seem. Look to the one from whence your help comes from. No one who trusts in the Lord will be disappointed.

How are you defining “hopeless” and “giving up” and “disappointed”?

I assume people who stood in line for the gas chamber during Hitler’s era felt hopeless and were disappointed that someone didn’t save them and their children from being murdered and that they had to give up on that hope in the end…

Should they have not been disappointed?
Or were these the wrong results for them to hope for?

Even you are not hopeless. Hope is a gift from God. Difficult times may occur but Christians look to God to deliver us, and ultimately to give us eternal life, should we die. What do you hope in?

You can assume what you like, but many of the persecuted Christians went to their deaths with hope and singing songs of praise. Hope is stronger than death, and as they say springs eternal.

I’m reminded of Maximilian Kolbe the saint martyred for another man in a concentration camp. It’s reported that they were singing songs and praying the rosary under his lead as they died of starvation and thirst.

Hope does spring eternal and Jesus Christ we have the hope of eternal life after death.

I recently contracted an STD. Am I still allowed to give hope to God? I have confessed my sins and have started going to Mass again, but I can’t help but feel unworthy 😦

Of course you can have hope, even if you feel that you don’t deserve it. There is no limit to God’s mercy, in His love. Jesus made us worthy by His sacrifice, trust in Him :gopray:. I’m sorry for what you’re going through, I’ll be praying for you.

Look to God for that hope. Not to yourself. If you look to yourself or your situation one can be tempted to despair. However, If we look to God hope springs anew each morning. Like Peter who tried to walk on water and started to sink when he saw the wind and the waves are we when we take our eyes off the Lord and look to ourselves. No matter how many times you have fallen hope in God. The Lord revealed to me that despite our limitations, despite our situations, and despite our failings there is always hope in him. For nothing is impossible for God. In fact to give in to despair is to doubt that God is greater than my sins or whatever I am going through. This is why I started this thread, because the Lord revealed this to me. Hope is indeed important and God is where our trust should be. If we hope in him we will not be disappointed. Have faith.
