If I have posted this on the wrong forum please move it, as I wasn’t sure where to put it.

I have noticed lately that on some forums that Catholics seem to be jumping all over other Catholics about liturgy and traditions. Some of the posters who seem uncharitable maybe haven’t read the rules.

Of course Catholics are all unique and have their own likes and dislikes, but we are a family and it is sad to see this type of behavior coming from one’s brothers and sisters in Christ.

Debate is fine, but let us not be so critical of one another. When I first started lurking on these forums there was much more respect shown to others.

It appears a simple statement of how the Mass is celebrated in a particular parish or other devotions seems to bring an onslought of un Christ like behavior.

Let us pray for peace within CAF as it is one of the best forums I have seen.

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

Amen!

Let us also pray that Catholics be obedient to Christ and to His Church.

Thanks, Bernadette
I will try to do better myself. I have seen how easy it is to get defensive when others challenge me or misunderstand me. I also feel easily angered by those who are errant with regard to Church teachings, or rebellious in tone. I am learning to pray to the Holy Spirit before responding now, but I still have a way to go.
Thanks for the encouragement and for your prayers. God Bless!

I for one second your opinion, Bernadette. I think all to often we here forget that the second greatest commandment is to love one another as we love ourselves. Maybe that’s why I usually don’t wade into many of the hot button topics (and why I’m still “new” after 8 months of membership). I sort of hope that they post a link to this thread in all the forums. Even though the topics are different, it seems just about every forum eventually devolves into sniping and bickering. That’s a perfect way to ruin this great site.

Chris

You’re absolutely right, Bernadette. I think our position on some of these divisive issues is less important to the Lord than the love and respect we give one another when discussing them. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and helping me to reflect on my own behavior.

As a newbie, I offer another Amen to that Bernadette. I am a cradle Catholic, and don’t know all the in’s and out’s of Catholicism, but really want to learn now! Now that my kids are in school and going to CCD. I posted a question once and the response made me feel really stupid. Anyway, I will also pray for peace and a better community spirit on this board.
