One parish church in my city has a 6p Wed Mass which I think is great. I’ve started noticing this in other cities. Is anything like this happening in your area? Please share!
I’ve noticed that here too. What I have found in our community though, is more and more protestants are starting to have Saturday “informal” services.
Parishes that are accessible have evening Masses in our diocese. Those that are further into the suburbs, like my parish, doesn’t have one except during First Friday. One parish church in my city has a 6p Wed Mass which I think is great. Its not lack of coordination. Sometimes its just the demand of the parishionersI don’t go to daily Mass at my own parish (where it’s 7:30 in the morning) but at a parish near where I work that has Mass every day at 5:15pm. The regulars come from all the local parishes because the evening Mass works better for us.
I don’t understand why parishes don’t coordinate more on Mass times. There are seven parishes near me. Six of them have Mass starting from 7 to 8:30, one also has a Mass at noon, and then there’s one Mass at 5:15.
Actually, I think it’s the convenience of the priests. Obviously the parishioners want it or they wouldn’t go to a different parish to find a Mass at a time they can attend. Its not lack of coordination. Sometimes its just the demand of the parishioners
To be honest, I just started noticing it. I’m usually behind the curve. I think it’s a great idea, though!*Was this a fairly recent occurrence for your parish?

I can’t speak for your diocese, but in our area, it’s for the parishioners. I know several local parishes that have over the course of the years changed Mass times, and the priest always consults parishioners. I don’t know a time when it hasn’t been done that way. There will always be some who can’t attend (I’ve been one of those, at one time I had very specific time needs and had to go elsewhere), so the priest looks at what the majority prefers. I doubt many priests want an empty parish.Actually, I think it’s the convenience of the priests.
