That is, on this day we are to celebrate everyone in heaven, including our family members and anyone we knew who is now in heaven.

On the day, the Church "recalls in a magnificent vision given in the Book of Revelation all those of all nations and tribes standing before the throne and in sight of the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands, proclaiming Him who redeemed them in His Blood.
