A Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

O gentle Heart of Jesus,
ever present in the Blessed Sacrament,
ever consumed with burning love
for the poor captive souls in Purgatory,

Be not severe in Your judgments,
but let some drops of Your Precious Blood
fall upon the devouring flames.

May they soon be united with Thee and hear those blessed words which will call them to their heavenly home: **“Come, blessed of My Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” **
 
11 years ago today, my Papa passed away shortly after being diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s. I would like to ask you to please say a prayer for him. Thank you all. 🙂

O eternal God, Who, besides the general precept of charity, hast commanded a particular respect for parents, kindred, and benefactors; grant, we beseech Thee, that, as they were the instruments by which Thy providence bestowed on us our birth, education and innumerable other blessings, so our prayers may be the means to obtain for them a speedy release from their excessive sufferings, and admittance to Thine infinite joys.
