Day 9 is done.

I have to admit that I am kind of sad that I’ve reached the end of this Novena - I enjoyed praying this every morning. However I still do pray for the Holy Souls after my daily Rosary. God Bless them and God Bless all of you. 🙂
Start over! I am 🙂 Day 1 for me!

Steve:

I just read the message and went to the website. Day One accomplished.

Thank you for the P/M.

Here’s a prayer Eastern Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox use to pray for those who have died in the faith:

AKATHIST for the REPOSE of Those Who have FALLEN ASLEEP

I’ve found it esp. comforting in the weeks after someone has died.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

Michael, thank you for posting that prayer. I bookmarked it and will be saying that one too.

Day 5 of the novena completed.

My Jesus, by the sorrows Thou did suffer in Thine agony in the garden, in Thy scourging and crowning with thorns, on the way to Calvary, in Thy crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in purgatory, especially on those that are most forsaken. Do Thou deliver them from the terrible torments they endure. Call them and admit them to Thy most sweet embrace in paradise. Amen

Thank you so much for telling me about this!

Day 1

Jesus, my Savior I have so often deserved to be cast into hell how great would be my suffering if I were now cast away and obliged to think that I myself had caused my damnation. I thank Thee for the patience with which Thou hast endured me. My God, I love Thee above all things and I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee because Thou art infinite goodness. I will rather die than offend Thee again. Grant me the grace of perseverance. Have pity on me and at the same time on those blessed souls suffering in Purgatory. Mary, Mother of God, come to their assistance with thy powerful intercession.
