Novena Question.

Is it ok to start like two Novenas at the same time? Like if you would want to start one to Saint Peregrine and the other to Saint Anne. Is this ok? Thanks. Gigglin or Georgia. 🤷

Yep, go a head! You’re much more ambitious than I am- I can hardly finish one.😃
 
Just be sure not to load up on so much vocal/structured prayer that you have no time left for mental prayer (heart-to-heart conversation with God in your own words).

Is it OK to have the one on one talks with God? I was raised by my mom who more or less made me feel that if I wanted to pray for a certain thing that I should name the intention and then pray and Our Father and a Hail Mary. Is it ok for Catholics to have a conversation with God as if you were talking to a friend or mate? or is this Catholic Taboo?

yes, you can talk to Him as a friend and a son/daugther. Prayings and/or talkings are our conversation with God.

You should absolutely talk to God as if you were talking to a friend – because you ARE!! 😃 Yes, we honor and praise and fall down in reverence before God, but we are also called to an intimate, personal relationship with Him – and that involves bringing everything to Him.

The following is just a part of the Conversation of the Merciful God with a Despairing Soul found in the Diary of St. Faustina (bolding mine for emphasis):
Jesus: What joy fills My Heart when you return to Me. Because you are weak, I take you in My arms and carry you to the home of My Father.
Soul: (as if awakening, asks fearfully): Is it possible that there is yet mercy for me?
Jesus: There is, My child. You have a special claim on My mercy. Let it act in your poor soul; let the rays of grace enter your soul; they bring with them light, warmth, and life.
Soul: But fear fills me at the thought of my sins, and this terrible fear moves me to doubt Your goodness.
Jesus: My child, all your sins have not wounded My Heart as painfully as your present lack of trust does - that after so many efforts of My love and mercy, you should still doubt My goodness…
…Tell Me all, My child, hide nothing from Me because My loving Heart, the Heart of Your Best Friend is listening to you."

Thank you for all our wonderful prayers that you have given us through your words and through scripture and tradition in your church, and thank you that I can come to you with whatever is on my mind and just tell you about it. You are wonderful! ❤️

Just confirming what water and Belle10 said so beautifully: It is absolutely OK (better than OK — it is wonderful!) to have intimate one-on-one conversations with God. He loves you as if you were the only person in the world, and He loves to listen to whatever is on your mind!
 
I guess it is just hard for me to talk to God like that because my mom more or less raised me that you name your intention and then pray an Our Father and a Hail Mary for it and then you say another intention and do the same until everything that you want to pray about has been done in that way. Thank yall for yalls help.
