Novena to Saint Anne - question

I started the Novena this week to Saint Anne, and I have a novena booklet that I bought awhile ago. I know some novenas to the same Saint are a little different, as I’ve seen online. But, the one I am praying in my booklet has an opening prayer to Saint Anne ,where I also include my special intention. The rest of the prayers are Day 1, Day 2, etc. … Do I need to pray the opening prayer each day? Or just the first day I start it? I only prayed it the first day I started, but I’m wondering if I should do it for each day. Thanks 🙂
 
I think you and I might be saying the same novena, I found my on Pinterest (I’ll admit I’m addicted to that site!). I’ve been saying the opening prayer each time I say the novena (currently on day 6 and haven’t missed one yet, which is an achievement for me! Darn forgetfulness). I figure it’s not mandatory to say, but it can never hurt to add extra prayers, right?😃
 
Yes, you would say that opening prayer every day and repeat the intention.

St. Anne is so powerful.

Oh, mine wasn’t from online… It’s an actual prayer book with novenas. The other poster found one on Pinterest, which might be the same as mine. I’ll try to see if I can find it 🙂

Hi Yogi,

You just follow along in the Novena.

So, yes, you repeat the opening prayers and your intentions.

For Day One, you recite those prayers.

Then for Day Two, you would repeat the opening prayers, along with your intentions, and the recite the prayers for Day Two.

For Day Three, etc.

What you are doing basically is asking for that saint to intercede for you, when you are praying a Novena. So, you are repeating your intentions each day.

Thank you! Whenever I prayed novenas before, that’s how I prayed them. But, for some reason this time I wasn’t sure so I didn’t pray the first opening prayer part each day, only the first day. But, I did today since now I know 🙂 thank you

You’re welcome. 🙂

It can be a little bit tricky to figure it out sometimes, because each Novena can be set up a little bit differently from one to the next.
