I’m sure practically everyone is familar with the Interview Video with Sr. Cushla Carmelite Nun in Christchurch, NZ.

Well,I sent them a message requesting Prayers and I had to ask Sr. Cushla about the St. Joseph Novena and this is what the Carmelite Nuns had to say:

Peace of Christ!

Dear “goforgoal”

Thank you for your email. We are keeping your intentions in our prayers. The Novena mentioned in the video is as follows:

NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH

(By Rev. Louis Lallement)

It consists in turning to St. Joseph four times a day (It does not matter when or where) and honouring him in the four points of :
  1. HIS FIDELITY TO GRACE.
Think of this a minute, thank God and ask through St. Joseph to be faithful to grace, and make your petition.
  1. HIS FIDELITY TO THE INTERIOR LIFE.
Think, thank God, and ask as above .
  1. HIS LOVE FOR OUR BLESSED LADY.
Think, thank God, and ask as above.
  1. HIS LOVE FOR THE INFANT.
Think, thank God and ask as above.

Only one point is to be taken for each visit or each meditation.

N.B. : It has been found to be so efficacious that one is advised to be sure that one really wants what one asks for.

All the best for your discernment.

May God bless you abundantly.

Yours in Christ,

The Carmelite Sisters

Yes, I’m very thankful to God that He sends us His Saints, Blesseds, Holy men and women, and Angels to help us out when we are most in need of thy mercy.

Right now, Christchurch, NZ is in need of our Prayers.
We would like to assure all the friends, family and benefactors of our Carmelite sisters in Christchurch that they are all well and safe. We managed to talk to them last night, thanks be to God! Holy Mass was offered for all victims, the deceased and those who are helping the people of Christchurch. We continue to pray for all our brothers and sisters.

Novena to St Joseph by: Rev. Louis Lallement

This powerful novena consists in turning to Joseph four times a day and honoring him in four points. It does not matter where or when. Only one point is taken at a time.
  1. St. Joseph’s faithfulness to God’s grace. Think of the times in Joseph’s life when he responding generously to God’s call and inspirations. Thank God, and ask St Joseph’s help in responding faithfully to God’s invitations and grace.
  2. St. Joseph’s fidelity to prayer, listening to God, and virtue. Reflect on what Joseph must have been like, the way he carried out his daily labor, how he led his family in prayer, what kind of virtue must have marked his daily living. Thank God and ask through St Joseph to be faithful to virtue, prayer, and the Christian life.
  3. St. Joseph’s love for Mary. Imagine the house of Nazareth where Joseph lived with Jesus and Mary. Let his care for her impress itself on your heart. See how he prayed with her, provided for her, and shared with her the responsibility of raising Jesus. Thank God and ask through St Joseph the grace to love Mary and to remain close to her all through your life.
  4. St. Joseph’s love for Jesus. Imagine how much Joseph must have loved Jesus. What was his heart when Jesus was born, when he took his first steps, said his first words, went to the Temple for the first time, finished building his first table…. Thank God and ask through St Joseph the grace to love Jesus as he did.
This novena, going back to Father Louis Lallemant, S. J. (1588-1635), has proven to be highly efficacious.
