Well now my ego is so pumped up so much that it may be too large to fit into the confessional box. Maybe I will just have my family genuflect to me and save the gas going to church.
I appreciate all the “atta boys” tho. Anyway I have succeeded in making some believe I am full of wisdom when I really am too lazy to write paragraphs. Do you mind if I frame what you said and hang it in living room for all to see? Maybe they will believe you because they certainly don’t believe me when I tell them how smart and charming I am. (I get no respect).
Somehow I doubt it. Once people don’t want to believe you, they’re not going to…
Luke 16:29-31
“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
“‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
God bless and the next time try telling the truth.
Thank you, and may God bless you as well. The version of truth that comes through my fingers, is talking about what I see in your writing – that doesn’t mean somebody else may see it. And the people closest to you are the hardest.
As I am transformed, I see things differently and look at things differently, and then when I think everything is good, it changes for the next day. But people near me see me change and think there is something wrong because I’m “not like myself”. Which I see as an upgrade but others see as instability. Especially those who know me but haven’t seen me for a while, if they hear me say something they judge it through an older framework they developed.
So I’m not taking back that I think you see connections that some others don’t, ability to compare concepts against completely different circumstances to see how they hold up, things like that. But that is a different thing when it comes to talking to people at home, who aren’t necessarily inspired to think “outside the box” and just may have already formed resistance if it’s like me where they put me off. So the challenge is to lose the feeling of pressure to communicate various forms of insight.
Have you ever read the first few paragraphs of the Dark Night of the Soul? The first couple chapters are fascinating, because you can just imagine the twists and turns that pride can take, in various situations.
You can read them here.
So having insight doesn’t make us necessarily good communicators. I just practice more on the Internet, and on FB I get into very diverse groups where it’s totally different environment than this. That’s helping too.
One way or another, good chance there is some pride involved. If I try to communicate and it isn’t received, that makes me feel like I’ve failed to communicate something that’s so obvious I hoped it would have been accepted on its own merit, and if not at least I thought these people had SOME respect for me. And then it becomes about proving I’m credible to people who see such efforts as trying to cover up some sort of problem.
Turns out if I’m talking mathematics maybe they do, but when it comes to spirituality people all think it’s so subjective that it become all about their ego against ours and it can be a mess. This can get better, but the precise pathway the Holy Spirit may take you through cannot be predicted, nor can the “day or time” when you “level up” any particular amount.
