Nice tips.
Relationships came up in two sermons last weekend. One mentioned Lectio Divina (scripture meditation), and the other touched on initiative and communication: “ask her out”.
I have noticed that in the absence of communication, people often fill in the blanks with a guess that is usually wrong such as “he doesn’t like me”, “I am being judged”, and that is exasperating.
So definitely clearly signal your intentions, make sure she is always first, and don’t try to “change her”.
I am not in any kind of romantic pursuit other than my wife, but I still have difficulty interpreting indirect signals. I recently noticed a possible disagreement between two people I hold in high esteem, but I am not sure how to communicate that they are both people I look up to, and would love to work with some day, if I am ever able to break into that industry.
I am working on that. However, if my plan does not work out I would be thrilled to assist with someone else’s endeavor, especially when people work together as my experience is that seeking change alone, rarely works, and diversity can be very powerful when combined.
So if you like this girl, getting help from above is great, but do your part as well.
One other recent sermon suggested giving issues to God that you can’t solve on your own. So if you do your best and it is not enough, realize things often work out down the road.
Good luck.
