I prayed the 54 days and still praying now… I prayed the sacred heart, saint Jude (i attended novena masses), st. Rita, St. philomena, St Anthony, St. therese, st. joseph, aholy spirit, holy souls, now the Mary undoer of knots… I still pray some of this many times a day … i go to holy mass every Sunday and on a weekday if i can. i go to church twice everyday to light a candle but i guess it is not God’s will… I tried my best:( my situation is worsening) i guess it really is impossible.:(:(:(😦

I also abstained from meat during fridays
I need some encouragement

just try to think of jesus in the garden of garden of gethsemane

I’m sorry you are in whatever situation is making you so sad. Accepting God’s will can be easier said than done and I pray you are able to accept what can’t be changed.

God’s timing is not like your own. Have patience and persevere in prayer.

Sometimes “patient endurance” is what is right, Taking a step back and listening…

You know, the will of God is a funny thing. It seems the things we want most are the hardest to obtain. You’re doing a great job! This is more than I’ve ever done for something!!

God is working with you in wonderful ways right now. The payoff is going to be incredible. Keep doin’ the work!! There is a Person at play behind these events who loves you so much that he humbled Himself to the point of a horrible death just to spend eternity with you 🙂

God works for us in ways we won’t see until we reach heaven. Trust me when I say, things are most definitely working for you!! Keep the faith!! I’ll be praying for you today 👍

Sometimes it takes a while especially if another person’s will is involved. St Monica prayed for St Augustine for a very long time! Sometimes God’s answer is “not yet”, sometimes another person just keeps rejecting His graces, and sometimes His answer is the cross. Try to trust Him 🙂 make an act of surrender… in a way that is worth more than many prayers we can say. God bless you

Hi Supergurl,

Everyone gave you such great answers here.

I’m going to add that sometimes it can just take some time for God to answer our prayers, too. I know that it’s not always being patient. 🙂

I have seen this in my own life, where it has taken long periods of time in some instances, before some prayers have been answered.

I agree with Monica’s post here. Sometimes God has to work through others to answer our prayers, and that can take time when He does that.

Don’t give up. Hang on to your faith. 🙂

My situation is getting worse.

Hard to give specific help. Are you dying? Are you addicted? Is your marriage in difficulty? Is caring for your parent/s getting too hard? Is your job stressful? etc. No need to tell us, just realize it is hard for us to provide more on point thoughts.

I commend you for your extended efforts to seek God’s Help. He is helping which will become clear to you in time. But remember - God’s Help is not a vending machine - Put in enough quarters and pull the the level and instantly the perfered product comes out.

Often we expect God to solve our situation quickly and fail to realize HE is giving us the strength to perservere. We fail to see the struggle is a test. We often fail to realize that, through us, HE is also working to improve others. We often fail to realize that ideas that come to mind are ideas we should act on even if we cannot see their end result. One step opens up another step opens another, etc., and in time we note improvement that would not be there had we failed to take to first small steps that came to mind. Sometimes God works for us. Most of the time He works through our efforts.

A note of caution: If you are in danger - seek professional help now. Make an appointment with a Priest who can connect you to proper help.

Last December I had a terrible time at home.

I rayed and prayed and prayed. I also asked on this site for prayers. Nothing seemed to happen but all of a sudden everything was fine.

Was it one last prayer? Was God wanting me to pray more? Did one more prayer break Satan’s back? I do not know but in the end things just seemed to suddenly get better.
**
Don’t stop praying!**

I think this is true… Why is that?🤷 Thank you for your kind words and prayers:blush: God Bless you!

Well let’s just say it is really important to me that is why i prayed so hard about it.

I know God is not a vending machine:p You don’t need alot of effort like that when you buy something from a vending machine.

I think you are right about this… Thank you for your insight! God Bless you!👍

Thank you for your encouraging words. But how to make an act of surrender? Should i stop praying about it?😊

I am really thankful for everyones’ answers here!👍

Unfortunately I don’t think I have much time that is why I am praying frantically 😛

I do understand. 🙂

I have seen my own prayers answered, just in the “nick of time,” so to speak, when everything seemed to be so impossible. God is so good.

I can tell you from my own experiences–time and time again–He knows better than I do, what has been best for me/my husband when it has come to prayers answered.

Sometimes we just have to trust, and wait things out.

I am the last person to be patient. Seriously. It is **not **a virtue with me, in all honesty. 😊

My own prayers have always been answered, sometimes yes, sometimes not yet and sometimes no.

When God says no, I remember the Agony in the Garden where Jesus begs the Father to spare Him from being killed and the Father’s answer is … No.

I found this quote from Mother Angelica to be quite helpful to me:

If you have a problem in your life that you can’t fathom or understand, you have to examine your prayer life, not the problem.

For me, this meant doing what other posters have suggested… opening myself up to the will of God. Many times, I’ve focused so much on what I want, that I close myself off from the help God wants to give me.

I highlighted the end part of your last paragraph Denise, because I think that it’s really important to remember this.

I cannot remember a time that God has not answered a prayer for me in some way.

In hindsight, I could see “why” something was answered in a certain way that I could not see at a particular time, when I looked back on it.

It was done for our benefit at the time, but I didn’t see it like that.

It’s true that He does know better than we do, what our needs are for us. We can’t/don’t always see that at the time. 🙂
