True, but what if you are already living a good Catholic life and always praying, asking God to reveal His will to you, and that you can fulfill it? What if you are already asking God to remove the desire in your heart for something, if that’s not what He wants for you?
I found this quote from Mother Angelica to be quite helpful to me:
If you have a problem in your life that you can’t fathom or understand, you have to examine your prayer life, not the problem.
For me, this meant doing what other posters have suggested… opening myself up to the will of God. Many times, I’ve focused so much on what I want, that I close myself off from the help God wants to give me.
