So I was wondering that if you are praying a novena and you forget a day does that mean you have to start over at day one or could you just pray 2 days of the novena the next day?

I am so glad to hear that,
because somehow, inevitably, I ALWAYS end up screwing up a 9 day novena,
and I always start over, only to screw it up again, get really frustrated, and stop.

Thats the reason I am asking this question because no matter what I do I screw up a novena and then become pretty frustrated

When my wife and I pray a Novena together we find it difficult to get it completed as our schedules do not match to well. If she misses a day she just doubles uo the next day. I don’t feel comfortable doing that so I usually just start over.
I have found that I can minimize starting over if I use a “block” calendar and write in every day which Novena I’m saying. Works pretty good. I doing 6 separate Novena right now!

I also think you can do double the next day, but it is a regrettable solution.
I have found that the easiest way is to remember do novenas, is to do them on a continuous rotation, ie. finish one, start another (as there is always someone or something to pray for).
Then you can schedule it together with another daily religious devotion/activity, like your daily rosary or morning offering or after daily Mass. This way you will remember through habit, and a good one at that.
