I’m a Catholic, brought into the Church last Easter. I read and hear about liturgical abuses since V II. What I’m trying to find out is:
What constitutes a “correct” Novus Ordo Mass? Other than some parishes kneeling after Eucharist is distributed while ours stands, how would I know to spot something that was/is improper?

I too am a convert (from lutheran) Have you even been to a Traditional Catholic Mass… They are most beautiful and never have the abuses in the Novus Ordo Mass

Welcome. Depending on where you are from, this may never be much of an issue for you. If you go by the way things are discussed here, you must realize that only squeaky wheels get posted. The majority of parishes have beautiful Masses.

I have been to dozens while traveling and only seen a handful of minor problems, but then I stay in the middle of the country. Most Masses are beautifully and reverently celebrated. I am sure you can find one.

Instead of being to concerned with abuses, I suggest that you spend time studying the different aspects of our theology. I would also encourage you to spend time in prayer, almsgiving and sacrifice. I will be surprised if after that you have a lot time left in chasing abuses.
