I know! She’s awesome! Definitely a saint for our times 🙂 which is the book I am currently reading: Faustina: A Saint for Our Times. I am only 1/2 through but I totally recommend it already if this is a topic of interest as it is to me:D

I think people need to stop worrying about the end of the times and worry more about your own personal end. Why fear the end? If you are ready to go then you are ready to go. The rapture happens at the moment Jesus comes back. I can give you passages to prove that,** but it’s too late.** Lay off the prohecies and focus on having a stong prayer life.
what is too late? Too late at night I am guessing?

❤️

I didn’t read this, I have read her Diary Divine Mercy of my Soul. I thought she only left her Notebooks when she passed on? Is this one of the same?

But yes many have a difficult time comprehending how one is in truth Mystic or a Seer, Sensitive.

Much happening today.

Anyway,

Fatima remains a concern. And should be used as a motivation to live a life for the Lord and the Holy Family. In essense so many here already do. Those who don’t are the problem and where the Prayer intention lies.

God Bless, GT

The book is Faustina: Saint for Our Times by Rev George W Kosicki CSB. marian press. I really am enjoying it so far. Very clearly written and it provides some cool background about JP2 and Faustina. He reportedly would visit her burial plot on the way home from the plant he worked at during WWII 👍

Both Pope John Paul 2 and the last of the Fatima seers have said that Russia was consecrated.

People who continue to insist that the proper consecration did not occur are raising the issue to the point where it borders on magic, is similar to an aspect of deus ex machina, and implies that by certain actions we can approach a borderline of control of God and therefore the destiny of the world.

One is not required by the Church to even believe that Fatima actually occurred. The Church certainly encourages the faithful to pray the Rosary, and encourages belief that Fatima occurred; but nothing about Fatima is a matter of Revelation or the Deposit of Faith. It is at best a matter of private revelation.

Without any nasty replies which is not the purpose of these forums, may I ask if other than Fatima are there Biblical references to the comments on Russia… I would like to study this “prophecy”? Thanks:shrug:
It’s private revelation.

Christians all should disregard the “Rapture” as this concept is not biblical but rather an opinion that somehow formed a doctrine. :o Tis true that nobody knows the time or hour and for good reason, if we knew the exact time would we live our lives the same? I believe many would think it good to live a sinful life and quickly before the time do some serious repenting and believe they could claim a ticket to heaven. I would rather live choosing whom I serve because of a love relationship.🙂
True, much of what happens today has happened before but the Word tells us just a womans contractions draw closer and more intense, so too would the signs to which we should look and know the time is near. We should not focus our lives trying to understand the time and hour but we should also not be ignorant for the Word was inspired by the Holy Spirit and God does nothing without bringing to light what will take place. Unlocking the statue in Daniel also assists in the timeline and shows us that we are currently on the toenails of the amazing prophecy.
Regardless of what we believe the beginning was inevitable and so too will the end be, however if many spent more time studying the Word and girding their minds, our hearts would seem less inclined to treat our brethren with hearts so unlike Christ. I personally would like to see more “healthy” discussions where denominations could learn more about what it is the other faiths belief and the basis on which it is formed. We should never give up learning and we are called to share the Gospel but with so many “gospels” out there people are searching for truth and looking for answers. 🤷

Great quote by St Faustina 👍
Hiya! Not all Protestants teach the Rapture…that is more a charismatic teaching. Good point though that it does not make sense because it is not biblical at all. The Bible should be permitted to interpret the Bible and unfortunately the Rapture concept was of personal interpretation.
The whole Left Behind series also portrays a different God to the one we find in the Word apart from all the contradictions and loopholes in the doctrine but we pray that more would question what they are taught rather than blindly following what men or women say is truth.👍

Back to the original question posted:

I’m not a theologian, I cannot say if there is a Rapture or not, (though I do believe God saves his faithful) but I pray all the time… for forgiveness, for strength in my faith, for the salvation of our souls…and for our country. Only God can save us.

There is power in prayer, keep on!👍

Y
OUR LADY has been asking us ,too say the ROSARY,which could save this world .
But the Pope and all the Bishops must Concercarted Russia To OUR Lady than this world
would have peace. And Jesus even said “ONLYt wellthrew Concercarting Russia to my mother
well peace happen”. If not than we have no hope, and things well get worst.

May GOD open the eyes of others. Or the Rapure will come sooner. For we are only in the being of the end. For we the Faithful, see before are eyes, what is happing.
give it a rest, since you are apparently unaware of any church history since 1917 you should not comment

It isn’t a matter of controlling God; it has more to do with doing what He says and trusting that He will keep His promises.

Sister Lucia, the Fatima seer you mentioned, quoted our lady as saying in 1929:
"The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world, to make the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means."

You can read the Pope’s consecration prayer here (it starts with “O Mother of all men” and ends with “light of Hope”). It is a beautiful prayer, but it does not mention Russia at all!

After a similar consecration of the whole world in 1942, Sister Lucia said that that was not what Our Lady asked for:
“The exact petition of Our Lady was for the Holy Father to make the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, commanding that at the same time and in union with His Holiness, all the bishops of the Catholic world should do it.”

It seems odd that consecrating the whole world rather than specifically Russia would be inadequate in 1942 but satisfactory in 1984.

(I am also doubtful that some of our more progressive prelates would have bothered to join the Holy Father in praying for Russia, even if he had done so, especially if their prayers were merely requested or assumed, rather than being commanded.)

Vatican says it’s done. It’s done. It’s time to move on,

Not to mention decrying the decline of morals. If you thought we had it bad, a quick glance at history will tell you that other periods of human history weren’t so hot either.

Ancient civilizations suffered miserable decline and bloody uprisings.

The medieval times were rife with war, barbarism, and slavery.

The so-called “enlightened” and “civilized” Victorian-era had racism, imperialism, and class struggle.

Even the 50s had the Cold War thing going on.

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Every step mankind makes forward in one direction is just a step backwards in another.
I disagree.

Things are much better now. Rule of law, reasonably accountable government, personal freedon, mechanised production and understanding infection and how to prevent it or cure it; that changed everything.

The common man now lives like a Caesar, even in poor countries. It’s just that now he has a Caesar’s problems: decadence. Time + money = self indulgence.

Not in this country… nor Mexico… Africa… India and God knows how many other Third World countries out there who see the things you’ve cited as only ideals.

The common man here barely makes ends meet.

JohnTheBaptist, there will simply not be a “rapture”. Please stop integrating Evagelical fundamentalist beliefs into Catholic theology. It just doesn’t work that way. There will be no rapture, no true believers suddenly dissapearing into the night causing caos etc.

This is a belief that has been formally rejected by Holy Mother Church.

I disagree with your assesment, we’re no better off now than the average Roman was so many milenia ago really.

I think we don’t need to get rude. He has a right to comment, even if it was last November.

As far as history goes, whether or not Russia was consecrated I am not sure. I have listened to both sides. One thing for sure is Fatima’s message if as much for us today as it was for then. What the OP was talking about is what he is seeing happening in the world now and Fatima has alot of prophecies and warnings that relate to our world today.

Having read Puzzleannie’s comment, I am not so sure it was rude, but rather terse. This issue has been beaten to death by a significantly small and insistent group that appears to take Fatima revelation to the level of, if not dogma, something akin to it. And as I noted in my post previously, they go at it as if God could not bring about the conversion of Russia unless some (magical) formula were said in the exact word order and with the exact number of people joining in.

John Paul 2 was neither a fool nor an illiterate; he had 2 Ph.D.'s and was majorly instrumental in getting the Vatican turned around about the revelations to Sister Faustina (Divine Mercy). He had a great devotion to Mary, and both he and the last visionary have said that the Consecration of Russia occurred as requested by Our Lady. And yet there remain the doubting Thomases who insist that it did not follow the proper formula, never mind that the government of Russia came crashing down and Communism was dealt a massive blow. If he said that the consecration he did was done and was adequate, who are we going to believe - the Pope or some conspiratorialists who have no standing at all? And if that statement of his is backed by the one remaining visionary - who is one of the three who actually heard what Mary had to say - who are we to believe - the visionary, or those with no standing to comment?

The very bottom line issue from Fatima is the same one that the Gospels give us - a call to metanoia - a turning away from sin and towards God; a living out of the Good News that He is alive! He is risen! We don’t need to believe in Fatima or even read what it had to say; we need to follow the Gospel. That is sufficient to salvation, and this fascination with mystery, with miracles, with the extraordinary and this insistence that the Pope has not done something at best borders on religious hysteria. God gave us His promise in Christ and that is all we need. Can events be changed through the power of prayer? Read what the Gospels tell us - of course it can. Do we have to follow an exact formula to accomplish something? Nothing in the Gospels says that we do (that is - a specific prayer format, or specific words); and this insistence that the formula of Fatima was not followed correctly at best borders on the issue of controlling God. At best. It is an unhealthy fascination that needs to come to closure.

Can the message of Fatima be relevant today to today’s Catholics? Yes, it can, if one does not treat it as some magic formula by which one can control God.
