Again, I have to pose this question to the board and I’m hoping for some good answers to my questions…

The reason why I’m asking this question is because the whole purpose of the Messiahship was that Samuel went to the people and told them that if they wanted to choose a king, what the implications would be. There is such a wide difference between the passages in Deuteronomy indicating the word “a prophet”–as this would seem like a overturning from prophet to the Messiahship - with or without realizing the authoritativeness from a prophet to Messiah to the people, as we read in 1 Samuel 8:6 the elders of Israel came before the prophet to say: “Appoint a king over us, to judge us, like all the other nations”. Samuel went to the Lord and prayed about this and the message came back with, "9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.” but the people of Israel refused to listen and wanted a King to them lead them and to "go out before us and fight our battles.” When Samuel repeat this back to God, God said "“Listen to them and give them a king.” So Samuel was responsible for choosing a King for the people. That being, a prophet would have identify the Messiah or to anoint him -

Isn’t this this first mention of a King over Israel-wouldn’t this be the first time we learn of the term Messiah but not the requirements? There are verses which definitely seem different from one another and also, from what I understood, it was said that the Messiah was created prior to creation-that is, from a revelation point of view, prophecy from Adam and handed all the way down to the great prophets, like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob…and then to Moses ("The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers - it is to him you shall listen. (Deut 18:15). Now in the New Testament, the prophet is exclaimed in Zechariah song "9 He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David 70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), Mary Song (or Song of Mary - Magnificat), "54 He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful 55 to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.” and last to Anna and Simeon - 29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss[d] your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”

see Luke 1:46-55 & then 67-80 and then continue to read Luke 2:14, and last - Luke 2:25-32.

So when Jesus spoke to the crowd, he told them, “and now one greater than Solomon is here”…Who could that be? Yes, Christ is the Messiah but greater than this, so who would Christ have to be?

31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.

Greater than a Prophet (Jonah) and Greater than a Messiah (Solomon)…hmmmmm:whistle:

Blessings
Mary
