I finally attempted RCIA for confirmation again after I failed the first time. Then BANG my whole world falls apart.I had a domestic incident.I am 60 miles from home and my parish priest will not answer my phone calls or email. I should have been enjoying my first communion and confirmation.I think i am doomed. Any advice?

This appears to be only a very small part of the story so it is difficult to advise you.
Certainly your parish priest will be very busy around Easter time which is the most demanding time of the year for parish priests.

I am sorry that you have been enduring some personal problems, such as the domestic incident.
Even though far from home hopefully you have support from family and friends, and if the domestic incident required official intervention, I hope you have sought whatever is needed.

You are not ‘doomed’ but certainly seem to have some setbacks.I hope and pray you will find a good way through these issues. Setbacks can be overcome, sometimes with help and practical direction.

God’s kind blessings to you.
Warm regards, Trishie

I’m with Trishie, very little to go on here, but it is true that this is a very busy time for all parish priests. It might be easier to contact a priest locally, where you are now, and advise him of your situation. I’m sure something can be worked out, within reason, whatever the circumstances may be.

I left an email with details of the incident with my priest.I sure do not want to go into them here. it entailed me moving for safety. It is to far away to continue my classes.I no longer have the same job. I guess I am asking should I start all over again for the third time or just go see the local preist here? Being confirmed is the most important thing in my life to me.

Go see the local priest where you are.

I can’t speak for him or for anyone else, but I see no point in starting RCIA all over again.

Discuss this with him, who likely has his own parish RCIA right now you could probably join. 🤷

I agree with Mary. Bloom where you are now planted.
To continue with your former parish only ties you to what seems a painful past, and if you are creating a better future, with God’s grace, then better to do so in the present circumstance and to find a home in your new parish community

Thank you for your kindness.I just feel so defeated at this point. That gets you no where. After Holy week I will make an appointment with the parish preist here and give you all an update as to the advice he gives me.I am quite sure GOD is aware of my desire for confirmation.

Not sure what the domestic issue is but sounds like you might be running from domestic abuse…in any case see a priest in your area. Perhaps they help you out like maybe just let you attend the finishing classes that you missed. Or just try again.

See the priest where you are now. There is a possibility depending on how much class has been missed something may be able to be worked out. Or maybe not. It all depends on a number of things. Just go to him and speak to him - it cannot hurt - but just remember whatever happens the best things in life do not come easily.

Thank You JoanofArc. I see your seeking an annaulment.I went through that process too.It was painfull. This situation was so shocking I am in now.I am seeking counseling to sort it all out. I will pray for your process.

I received my notification of publication of acts yesterday two hours before the Easter Vigil Mass. I am taking that as a sign. At first it was very emotional. It is like my priest said - it is like a death. But then I got to participate in the Resurrection. The timing could not have been more God-given.

If you are interested you can click the link and join the group. We get much more in depth and you won’t have to deal with some of what gets said out here. Also, we have some help in some areas.

Please don’t give up. Contact a local priest and explain what happened. He can get in touch with your former priest if he thinks it is necessary.
God Bless.

Yes,I have not given up yet,but I have to admit it is a challenge to do this a third time.😦

I am neither JOB or ST Francis but I found that story humbling.:blush:Thanks for sharing.
