Within our parents time, the German Nation under Hitler, issued laws that clearly dictated against the religious freedom of it’s citizens.Blessed Cardinal von Galen gave out priciples to his flock to choose their religious beliefs over those issued by the Government.Here is an exert of what he writes in his pasteral letter on 6th.July 1941----

If one wants to heed the lessons of history, I suggest they obtain a book called Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin, written by Yale Historian Timothy Snyder.
The book details the atrocities committed by both Stalin’s Marxists and Hitlers Nazis in that part of Europe consisting of western Poland and easter Ukraine. The breakdown of an objective morality, replaced by a moral relativism as dictated by either marxism or Nazism resulted in the mass murder of millions of Polish and Ukrainians by starvation, shooting and gassing. We in the west are very used to reading and hearing of accounts of WW II as fought on the western theartres of war. This book details what went on in those areas of Europe which were locked away from western eyes immediately after the conclusion of the war. In horrific detail Snyder shows just how the moral relativism as dictated by either the Nazis or Marxists allowed what had once been a common morality to be subsumed by the expedient. In other words, laws written by men lead to the deaths of millions and all done in the name of whoever was in control of those lands at the time. Both marxism and nazism were Godless philosophies. The arrogance of man trumped objective morality and lead to the cult of the dictator. And why not? For the vacuum created by the trampling of “…the sacred obligations of conscience…”, as quoted by Karoleck, can and did lead to the introduction of a ‘morality’ based on the whims and desires of dictattors supported by a population lead away from those “…sacred obligations of conscience…”. Both Stalin and Hitler changed their ‘morality’ as the state of war changed and the supporters of those regimes went along for the ride. The consequences were appalling.
It might mean little to many people that a nation can show tolerance to minority groups such as those who crave the right to abortion, or the right to ‘marry’ a same sex partner, or the right to force a priest to perform a ceremony that is against the belief system of a Church, but if allowed to continue, it will inevitable lead to the suspension of the “…sacred obligations of conscience…” on a scale similar to that which occured in eastern Europe. History is full of similar examples.

When England’s Sexual Orientation Regulations of the Equality Act, installed under Tony Blair’s Labour government were passed , the first casualty was Catholic adoption agencies.
Why ?
Because they refused to admit homosexual partners as prospective adoptees (and they are right in doing so ). Catholic social workers in this domain were either forced to comply or lost their jobs … Hardly sounds like "equality" , you have to admit … :dts:

I think that the title of this thread by NeedsImprovement is the correct one.For those who live in an openly oppresive country such as China—well, the Goverment simply jails anyone who shows any moral leadership;that is why at anyone time there are two or three Bishops who are in prison.**NeedsImprovement ** is right about the need of prayer(and Penance) at this time
But the attacks on our western democratic countries by some governments ,is to pass laws that will uphold evil.For instance in Aussie land where John lives,The Victorian Government passed a law refusing a doctors’ right of concience in regard to a conscientious objection to abortion.This in turn,the refusal of doctor’s right of conscience(that **John ** warns about)has paved the way for compulsory participation in other processes e.g.euthanasia;physician assisted suiside.
As yet,this Victorian Government has not prosecuted any doctor ,so this law is in place but not enforced.But I suspect that before to long, this law will be tested when a woman sues a doctor who refused a woman’s request for him to kill her unborn baby.This will be the same for those priests who refuse to perform a same sex marriaqe request;or a teacher who refuses to teach (indoctrinate–as NeedsImprovement rightly put it) that a same sex lifestyle is good;or a catholic person working for an adoption agency refusing a same sex “couple” to adopt a child.The laws are in place to uphold evil–all it needs are test cases–which once won, will precipitate the flood gates of the persecution of catholics and persons of good will.
So the Law is turning good into evil & evil into good.I came across this passage of what the Roman proconsul Galerius Maximus said at the trial of St.Cyprian(Acta 3-6)

Somewhere along the line, as Karoleck hints, we must’ve stopped praying and doing penance (or little renouncements or fasting). Prayer and fasting can suspend the laws of nature, call down God’s grace and (
) cast out demons :Matt 17 :18-20 [DRV]
Then came the disciples to Jesus secretly, and said: Why could not we cast him out? Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For, amen I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove from hence hither, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you. But this kind is not cast out but by prayer and fasting.
I should think the Rosary would be a most effective weapon against this gay militant/lobbyist attack on marriage and the family. It’s always the right time to pray.
A variant of the “I am a catholic ;but I do not agree with the churches’ unjust stand on this–or this-" cop-out which has been repeated by various political leaders up here is: " Well, I can’t my personal beliefs interfere with my running of the country .”

The forced indoctrination of children with homosexual agenda in our elementary schools is not something totally new . This erosive process has been going on for some time now.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE THE NEXT BATTLEGROUND OVER HOMOSEXUALITY

" In 1997 a homosexual kindergarten teacher, James Chamberlain, brought a legal action against the Surrey BC School Board for refusing the use of three pro-homosexual books in kindergarten and Grade 1. Under the BC Schools Act, the Minister of Education approves the basic educational resource material, but confers on local boards the authority to approve supplementary resource material. It took years for the case to wind its way to the Supreme Court of Canada. The Supreme Court of Canada, in a decision handed down in December 2002, read the words “tolerance” and “diversity” into the BC Schools Act even though these words were not mentioned in the Act at all. The court then held that “tolerance” (meaning support for homosexual education) is always age appropriate. The court further held that although the board must consider the religious views of parents, books cannot be banned on religious grounds. The court then required that the Surrey School Board review again the disputed books but refrain this time from using religion as a criterion. The court also ordered the school board to pay Chamberlain’s legal costs, which amounted to approximately $500,000.00. Since this was a decision by the highest court in the country, the Supreme Court of Canada, it applies to all of Canada, with the result that all School Acts must be interpreted to include “tolerance” toward homosexuality.
The Toronto Board has a budget of $2.2 billion this year, which is $217 million more than last year even though enrollment in the Toronto District School Board has dropped by approximately 20,000 students. Part of this money is now being used for the open promotion of homosexuality. According to an internal staff newsletter from a Toronto school board junior middle school, the trustees used taxpayers’ dollars to pay for a bus for the 2005 Gay Pride parade for staff and students. The Toronto District School Board also decided that it will not let parents know what or when their children will be taught about gays or lesbians. In short, the board decided that the parents should have no say over their children’s education on the homosexual issue. This is outrageous. It is a deliberate attempt to programme children on an ideological/political issue. In no way can this provision of homosexual propaganda be construed as “education”. The disregard of parental rights is part of a growing trend in the public education system. It also proves that the Trustees are willing to misrepresent the interests of parents on these matters. "

Heavy reading indeed, yet, we mustn’t remain ignorant .
The purpose of presenting these examples is to indicate very clearly (to those of us interested in reading about it ) the damage currently being wreaked at an international level upon the family and society, by the forced indoctrination of children with the homosexual agenda. It should serve to weed out any unsubstantiated naysayers too. However, before proceeding to any more examples, it probably wouldn’t hurt us to attempt one or two smiling exercises. This way we should be able to ward off any of perma-frown’s potential threats/effects .
As serious as things might get , **we must never let anyone take away our faith. Faith is our Anchor. Additionally, it is in our best interests not to let anyone take away any of our joy either **– no matter how dire a situation may look. If we have joy, we can usually find courage. If we have courage, we usually continue to pray. The long and short of it : Hold on to your sense of humour.
Although the quality of mirth is somewhat hidden in the Gospels (to protect against, one suspects, laying them open to blatant mockery ) mirth shone forth in certain Saints. St Augustine said , “the hippopotamus is proof that God has a sense of humour.”
Please note that we aren’t turning this into a joke thread or clubhouse thread at all. But it can be a strain emotionally reading the type of things exposed in the previous posts. So let’s pause a moment and consider parts of our faith as expressed through the eyes of some of our brothers who refused to let their joy be taken away :
St. Lawrence , during his martyrdom , never lost his joy. If anything, it appears to have increased :
The Saint was tied on top of an iron grill over a slow fire that roasted his flesh little by little, but Lawrence was burning with so much love of God that he almost did not feel the flames. In fact, God gave him so much strength and joy that he even joked. “Turn me over,” he said to the judge. “I’m done on this side!” And just before he died, he said, “It’s cooked enough now.”
Another of our elder brothers, most endeared to this thread - His Emminence George Cardinal Pell gives evidence in some of his more recent quotes that no one is going to be taking away his joy anytime soon either. Yet he has always remained firm, staunch and outspoken while proclaiming the truth on this thread’s topic.
In one article the Daily Telegraph says of him :
Pell says same-sex marriage - he doesn’t use the word “gay”, because he says it’s a word that has been colonised by one group and that “homosexuals are as miserable as the rest of us.”
That same article continues:
To those who question how a celibate priest could possibly advise on sexual matters, Pell replies: “I wasn’t born under a cabbage leaf. I’ve mixed widely in a whole variety of situations. Over those years, I’ve heard many confessions. Many people have come to talk about this or that.”

Another of our elder brothers, most endeared to this thread - His Emminence George Cardinal Pell gives evidence in some of his more recent quotes that no one is going to be taking away his joy anytime soon either. Yet he has always remained firm, staunch and outspoken while proclaiming the truth on this thread’s topic.
In one article the Daily Telegraph says of him :
Pell says same-sex marriage - he doesn’t use the word “gay”, because he says it’s a word that has been colonised by one group and that “homosexuals are as miserable as the rest of us.”
That same article continues:
To those who question how a celibate priest could possibly advise on sexual matters, Pell replies: “I wasn’t born under a cabbage leaf. I’ve mixed widely in a whole variety of situations. Over those years, I’ve heard many confessions. Many people have come to talk about this or that.”

The cardinal spoke from the pulpit at Catedral de Santa Maris Magdalena, Getafe. When His Eminence was introduced to the congregation, it was to a standing ovation sparked by words:

There has already been a thread started on this next case , but it’s still worth a look here too . For one thing , we can avoid a lot of the naysayers and instigators who’ve been posting on the other threads. But most of all , this case presents us with a glowing real-life example which mirrors some pertinent counsel karolek had brought to this thread several posts ago.
The case is mentioned in a NY Times article entitled Rights Collide as Town Clerk Sidesteps Role in Gay Marriages .
In brief, the article is about elected Ledyard town clerk Mrs. Rose Marie Belforti, who appears to be about to lose her job because of the NY State Marriage Equality Act.
Right off the top, how about we note that word “Equality” again . How convenient .
A more accurate descriptive might be the* NY State Denial of the Truth Act*. As we are learning, the true meaning of “Equality” as colonized by homosexual activists and militants, is actually an attack on the family, on parents, on children and on other fundamental freedoms, the foremost of which is religious freedom.
If we wish to examine a story instead of simply reading it, the best way to start is to try and arrange things in chronological order if they aren’t already . When we do that, certain facts become much clearer - plain to see. As pointed out earlier in the thread , people who wish to present a distortion instead of the truth often try to cloud the truth by mixing up the chronological order of events.
In brief then, Ledyard NY town clerk Mrs. Rose Marie Belforti first won election as a town clerk a decade ago. The only thing at all I find beautiful about this story is Mrs. Belforti’s words when she explains to us her sense of conviction:
“For me to participate in the same-sex marriage application process I don’t feel is right,” she said. “God doesn’t want me to do this, so I can’t do what God doesn’t want me to do, just like I can’t steal, or any of the other things that God doesn’t want me to do.”
God bless her soul … brings a tear to the eye - doesn’t it ?

Thanks - that’s a helpful indicator.The intention was, at least concerning the indoctrination of school children with the homosexual agenda, that enough information be presented for substantiation to convince people it’s actually happening ( - some of us would need a little more convincing than others.I have links to many more articles verifying the aforementioned and may post one from time to time if it’s pertinent).
The first chapter of David Kupelian’s book – The Marketing of Evil is being made available online for free. I would heartily urge anyone and everyone who is interested in getting informed ** on the tactics of the gay militants, and their overall strategy , to give this chapter a read – entitled How ‘gay rights’ is being sold to America.
I read this piece for the first time this week and found it not only confirms everything we’ve studied/presented on this thread, but reveals a ton more.
** ( @ hawkeye : please feel free to exempt yourself from these reading exercises if you wish ; no one is being asked to go beyond their personal limit and nobody needs to bring a note from home to be excused. We all do what we can – it’s enough no foul - no offense taken]. Additionally as David Kupelian notes: “Multitudes of activists – with almost limitless time and energy to devote to advancing their agenda, largely unencumbered by any need to change diapers, pay for dental braces, or attend their children’s soccer games, as do most heterosexual married people – have succeeded in their goal of transforming society. I think it took me between 8-10 minutes to read the chapter . Once a person has read it, the majority are going to need to get away from it - they’ll need a break . It’s that heavy . So, if anyone can watch their favourite comedian, or rent a movie and watch it with family or friends, or go out for dinner – whatever works ; they should probably do it. The weight of information being revealed can/will initially leave one discouraged, or feeling powerless , or depressed, or oppressed or all of the above. But we recover (the rosary works for me) with a much more precise picture of what is and has been going on behind our backs.
(There isn’t any way to blot out the sidebar advertisements where the article appears … so I just ignore them …… Could you please note, the only thing I’m recommending we read on that page is Chapter One, available online).
The better informed we are, the better we’re going to be able to understand this problem . One would do well to follow up by reading this article from Real Women of Canada entitled HOW SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LEGISLATION WILL AFFECT OUR FUTURE . Now both of these articles were written several years ago. We discover that the indoctrination of children in the school systems with the homosexual agenda indicates we are already into the more advanced stages .

This is a comment that appeared on another thread in response to a post I made about Mrs. Rose Marie Belforti (mentioned 2 posts earlier in this thread) . The username of the member really has no bearing because I saw another similar comment from someone claiming to be Catholic.
There are some interesting comparisons to be made with the statement quoted directly below (and the question I asked in response [around 4 days ago I think] which remains unanswered). …Might need a break for a day or two. Anyhow, it’s nice and short - have a look. Get some ideas.

Isn’t that a little weird, considering mother nature has worked quite well for millions of years in helping us to decide what we are?

This is where the so called “equality” that gays sought is leading us. It is an issue that is far wider than the simple issue of gays wanting to be left alone and to be not discriminated against.
