Matt 18:15-17
16 But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
What, or whom is being referred to here as “church”? Do you not consider this passage to be a commentary about Church Authority?
I am curious, Apo, how you understand this passage:Nowhere does it say “the Church,” corporately, is our teacher, as you claim.I will agree that it supports the unity of faith, for the sake that believers "are no longer be children tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming… growing up in ALL ASPECTS INTO HIM.I agree with unity, but not conformity for the sake of external unity. I’m questioning the Apostolic validity of certain Marian dogmas sanctioned by both the Latin and Greek churches.Code:It explicitly states that He gave various ministries (including teachers) within the Church Christ is building to equip the saints (redeemed believers) for the work of service, to the building up of the Body of Christ - which is the Church.
