Also, why do you worry about YHWH, the Divine Name? In some ways, we are still not 100% sure as to how it is pronounced. In any case, have you read Philippians 2:6-11 lately? It is at the name of Jesus “every knee should bend”. Also, if you look at the Acts of the Apostles, all of the healings, wonders, and miracles are done in the Name of Jesus, not YHWH.
Could you explain this a little more indepth?? I see it but I just need to explained a little to understand its meaning. Thanks!!!

McCorm, "Thanks for checking out the blog…I am glad you liked you the Gomes interview. I think we both have a love of collecting Bibles!
Your welcome, Ever hear of a Slip jacketed Jerusalem Study Bible? Some told me about it a few yrs ago, as he wassearching Borders Book shelves for it? Said it was terrific! Haven’t been able to locate or find one yet.

// worst … change … ever !!!
// i would like to know since when the pope and jews have the authority to change anything in the sacred scriptures??? if i remember correctly some where in the bible (by jesus) it states nothing shall be changed nor added…
// i believe God revealed his name for a reason and it’s written for a reason…
Hello Jehuty,
What dos the Bible say about that?
Moses doesn’t call God at all!

Exd 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.

Moss decides to investgate and turns toward God.

Exd 3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

Exd 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I.
All God want is for us to acknoweldge Him, to turn toward Him, He’ll help us along the way.

Ever hear of the term phase heavenly principles in earthly terms?

anthropomorphism (an·thro·po·mor·phism)

The attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to nonhuman organisms or inanimate objects.

God’s phone # Jer 33: 3

Jer 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known miah

God waits ith open arms for us to turn to HIM, A loving Father aits for th Prodigal son to return, with open arms, hat’s he Picture Jesus Gives us o th Father.
Did the Father in the Story of the Podigal son, hold back on a technicality??
Did he wait for the son to say the proper word or words?

God waits… He’s always there, al we have to do is turn and He helps with the rest.

The term LORD is the highest term we have on this ole’ Earth to honor and Worship Him.
Yes we have limitations, especially compared to the Heavens.
God works ith THEM.

God bless’s all the hearers of His Word.

this explains a lot

Yes Proverbs 30:6, Deut. 4:2 and Rev. 22:18-19, but keep also in mind II Timothy 3:16-17
One of my personl fav’s concernng authority, Paul writesI

1Tim 3:14-15,
I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these instructions to you so that, if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.

Ephesians 2:10, “**so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known **to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”

2Tim 3:16, is saying Scripture is useful not the sole authority.

William Barclay: (v) The Study of Scriptures trains a man in righteousness…’
" It is not saying by reading the Bible you can save yourself.
The study of the scriptures must never be selfish, neversimly fo the god of a man’s OWN soul. Any conversion which makes a man think of nothing but the fact **he is saved ** is no true conversion. He must study th Scriptures to make himself useful to God and too his fellow men. No man is saved unles he is on fire to save his fellow man."

God bless,
Johnnie O

Thank you. I gave those verses as examples, but those passages alone aren’t the sole authority. The word of God is very sacred as well as tradition.

// seriously, what the heck does that have anything to do with what i wrote?
If it was rendered as LORD for years surely the JB was wrong to change LORD to Yahweh in the first place? Various versions such as the DR Challenor have used LORD years before the JB came along so surely Jerusalem was wrong to change this to Yahweh on the whim of the translators who obviously wanted the Old Testament to read more ‘authentically’ or something.
// no it wasn’t…in the scriptures is YHWH not Lord or whatever…

Hi John,
What you are probably refering to is the 1966 Jerusalem Bible.
It comes in a slip cover and has the extended book introductions and notes (much like the current New Jerusalem Bible). This Bible uses heavier bible paper and is very thick (2 1/2 inches).
You can’t buy it new, it was replaced by the New Jerusalem Bible.
I bought mine on E-bay. Look also on used book site like Amazon and others. It is getting a little harder to find.

I was reading this the other day…

In Canada, a Lectionary based on the New Revised Standard Version was published without the required advance Vatican approval. Although the NRSV had been rejected for liturgical use by the Vatican, temporary permission to continue to use the defective NRSV-based Lectionary in Canada only was granted by the Holy See.

Does Canada still use the NRSV? If so, how long does temporary permission last?

Canada now uses an adapted edition if the NRSV which received approval from Rome. Also, the NRSV is being adapted for liturgical use in the UK.
