I’m contemplating religious life, so if it’s not too much trouble I’d like to know a bit about your order. Thanks.

And just what order are you talking about?

CAF and its fora are not run by any particular religious order.

I think she is talking about the different nuns on this forum and which orders they are in and for them to tell her about them…🙂

We are a small franciscan community, founded in Peoria, whose main apostolate is Health care. Our website has more information www.franciscansisterspeoria.org

I’m afraid the listing that is linked to in a previous post is rather limited.

The Guide to Religious Ministries has a complete listing for all communities in the US. They also have a website.
There is also the Vision Vocation Guide and their website.
For a more limited but good list there is the Institute for Religious Life and the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious.
Sorry I don’t have all the addresses in my head, but if you serch those terms they come up.

I’m not a sister yet, but God willing I will be in August. I am hoping to enter the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor MI.
They were founded in 1997 by four Sisters from Nashville TN. They are a teaching order. They have a very strong devotion to Mary and the Eucharist. They also have a very strong traditional Dominican flavor to their prayer life. You can find out more at the website.

You are in my prayers and may God bless you on this wonderful journey, where ever it may lead you!

Totus tuus Maria!

We are an order of Dominican cloistered nuns. Although the words “nuns” and “sisters” are often used interchangeably, nuns are women who live in cloistered communities and do not have an active apostolate and Sisters are women religious who may or may not live in community and have an outside apostolate. Both are called to a prayerful and contemplative life. You might say that for nuns the main ministry is contemplation, while for sisters their ministry is fed by their contemplation.

Anyway, our website is www.opnuns-fh.org. God bless you on your journey.

we are the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm. We were founded by Mother Angeline Teresa McCrory, O.Carm. We minister to the elderly and our website is: www.carmelitesisters.com
May God bless your discernment to follow His call.
