I think the scripture in Matt 22 about the wedding feast and the guests needing a wedding garment to be admitted may be the basis for this analogy

The tradition of wearing the white garment for the infant shows the incorporation of the child into the Bride of Christ. For adults, in antiquity, the adult would be unclothed, similar to the wedding couple prior to consummation.

That is interesting about unclothed baptism, but note that the Catechism mentions Baptism as a cleansing in anticipation of the marriage feast not in anticipation of the marriage bed.

By the hand of our primordial mother sin and death entered human life.
It is fitting that from the hand of Our Blessed Mother the water that removes sin and death enters human life.
St John the Baptist begins the nuptial cleansing that prepares the bride to become properly disposed to recieve the groom. This is made evident in how the gospel of John describes this crowds response to Jesus’ teaching about the Baptist.
In another way the nuptial bath of mankind is the Immaculate Conception. Among men stained with sin, destined for death is born a woman who is neither stained nor burdened. From her will proceed the cleansing Spirit of God that will prepare the man who will draw from the earth the nuptial water that will prepare the bride to recognize her divine groom.
The man who will draw the Baptismal water from the earth himself recieves nuptial cleansing in the womb because of the maternal love of his mother when the voice of the Blessed Virgin reaches her ears and she recieves the Holy Spirit and Faith in the Incarnartion of the Lord.

The infant puts the garment on after being immersed naked. Adults take off the old garment, meaning the old man or self, We came into the world naked we should come into the Church naked in imitation of Christ who was immersed naked into a baptism of death on the cross.
