Is there a traditional mass intention for a nuptial mass? Or, is this something the couple may decide (assuming they are asking the church for a special mass, and not using a regularly-scheduled mass).
No, it’s not a dumb question.Ok- it’s kind of a dumb question, which is why I’m asking here before asking our priest
For example, I can have a mass said for my late great ancestor.
No one has directly said "so this mass is being offered for you (the couple), so I’m wanting to clarify what’s usually done. Is it offered for us? If not, do we get to choose who it’s offered for (if so, I was wondering if there is a “pious custom”, so to speak)? etc
Feeling dumb today,

Actually, a priest can offer any Mass for anyone living or dead. Since there’s no requirement that the nuptial Mass be offered “for the couple” it’s entirely appropriate for the couple to ask that the Mass be offered for a deceased relative.Ok- it’s kind of a dumb question, which is why I’m asking here before asking our priest
