Part of the URL was modified by the Forum program - it is a three-letter word meaning ‘biblical beast of burden’

Yup, those people have a terrible lack of ability in the area of literary interpretation and wonderful knack for taking statements out of context. They seem to be the same kind of folk who apply those traits to their Bible reading.

I feel the need to point out that the asterisks in the address provided by the original poster should be replaced with a three-letter word meaning donkey. I personally don’t see it as a curse word, but I suppose it’s best to defer to the sensibilities of those who do. Anyway, I was originally a bit confused as to why the link didn’t work, and I thought others might also need clarification.

Here is some more about the fun people responsible for this:

Let me just see if the Forum will bleep out part of the URL again:
Baalams ***
I like that blogger’s compassionate view of things, although I’d have to say that the VanNatten’s might find her condescending to the point of insult. Nonetheless, her approach is far superior to mine, considering I immediately felt hostility toward those poor, misguided folks.

Yup, it did. Havent run into that one before.

It is probably what the previous poster said, but could a moderator explain this policy? At least modify the program to allow using Biblical phrases where the context makes the meaning something clearly not vulgar. I could understand bleeping something like 2 Kings 18:27

How about reading some good things about Narnia? This comes to us from “Catholic Outreach” and is supposed to be good study guides for teens.

Notworthy

the formatting can be defeated 🙂 - though I hesitate to say how I did it, in case of lurking hackers 😉 :banghead: (a SLAYYYY!!! emoticon would be useful for them) The amusing thing is, that the British word corresponding to the censored donkey word is not blocked - I could use it, if I wanted. But that would not be in the spirit of the TOS of the board.

The asinine beast ridden by Balaam was female, so may accurately be called a jenny.

That page is certainly amusing (which it probably shouldn’t be :o ) - I admire their zeal, though it seems so strange to regard him as a threat. But then, as long as one shares their assumptions, theirs is probably a very reasonable conclusion. ##
