I just got back from mass and in our bulliten this week there was an insert about the pending NY Reproductive Health Act. Some things listed in the bill are abortion being made legal for any reason in the third trimester, up to the babies due date, and removing protections for infants born alive during an abortion. I would urge anyone in New York to contact thier representatives to oppose the bill. I already did so. There is a website listed in the bulliten insert I used, www.nyscatholic.org.

I just wanted to get the word out. Please pray for us here in NY, especially our unborn if you are out of state/country.

So very sad and infuriating that our ‘Catholic’ governor is leading the charge on this.
What makes me angrier is that I know more Catholics that voted for him and his party this past election than did not! 😡

NY, California and Illinois, all have many pro-lifers because they have indeed, large populations. I guess, the same can be said for other states in that sense. Well, hopefully, the tide can change. I saw a New Yorker on TV, so he was very loyal to his state all the same but he was saying how NY’s population was going to continue to shrink. Maybe on down-the-line, changes will come. This guest on TV said he had no plans to leave his state ever.

It is horrible. It is an attempt to implement “reproductive freedom”.

The Encyclopedia of Feminism (1986) Lisa Tuttle on reproductive freedom:
Defined by feminists in the 1970s as a basic human right, it includes the right to abortion and birth control, but implies much more. To be realised, reproductive freedom must include not only woman’s right to choose childbirth, abortion, sterilisation or birth control, but also her right to make those choices freely, without pressure from individual men, doctors, governmental or religious authorities.

Very disturbing. If anything you can imagine a woman who isn’t showing can disconnect the life inside with her ideas of it, but I couldn’t imagine having a full term, 9 month old child and deciding to end it. So sad that people have been so easily manipulated into thinking that’s a right.

Continuing the discussion from NY Reproductive Health Act:

I feel the same way! I wish our church leaders would take a firmer stance against the Democrat party in our state. I don’t believe thier are many, if any at all, pro-life Democrats in NY. You can’t be a Catholic in good standing and be pro-choice and vote for politicians who further a culture of death and support abortion rights. The church has already lost the ability to help facilitate adoptions because our beliefs are seen as discriminatory… yet nothing changes. Regardless of how you feel on every other political issue, if you don’t vote to protect the unborn whatever other ‘good’ you think you ate voting for is a moot point.
