Much to my surprise, during the service of the Burial of Christ at our Maronite parish last Friday, no one was scheduled to be the lector for the New Testament reading, so our pastor gestured at me from the sanctuary to read Galatians 3.

At first, I was a bit nervous for the impromptu assignment without a chance to prepare the reading, but I was immediately comfortable with it, because it was a familiar text to me. As a matter of fact, I wondered how St. Paul would have said it in person to the Galatians what he put in his letter to them. I figured that he’d have used a jeering tone with a firm and loud voice, so I took a crack at it then: “O foolish Galatians!”

People later told me that I seemed to be enjoying playing St. Paul. 😃

Lol. At my parish, there is a lady who often goes up for readings. You can tells she’s always really excited to do the readings and always try’s to change her voice tone for different characters. If it’s God speaking, she always makes a very deep voice and it’s little cringy and also kind of funny.

Oh, and if you’re Maronite why do you have Latin Catholic as your Church? Shouldn’t it be Maronite Catholic?

Simple, because I haven’t heard back from the eparchy about my request to transfer to the Maronite Church yet. 😉
