Noe.

What’s wrong with this word?

No “L”.

😃

Whats wrong with this sequence:
ABCDEFGHIJKMOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Here’s another one: In “Lo How A Rose E’er Blooming,” the line “It came, a floweret bright” was changed to “It came, a blossom bright.” Whassamatta? You think we can’t say “floweret”?

Funny thing is, I was on retreat this weekend w/ about 2 dozen women. We sang the masculine words to many songs and not one woman was offended. Fancy that! —KCT
What strikes me funny is that I and almost all the women I know are more offended by the altered lyrics (while others somehow manage to have not much opinion at all) and find the neutering patronizing.
Joe Kelley:
I think their hatchet job on Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is even worse.

End of second stanza -

Pleased as man with man to dwell; Jesus, our Emanuel.

Has become -

Pleased as man with us to dwell; Jesus, our Emanuel.

It kills the rhyme with Emanuel.
Even worse, in my opinion–it destroys the parallel with the Creed: “for us men and for our salvation … and became Man.” Of course, there’s really no surprise there because the gender-neutering folk hate that line and don’t understand the theology they’re mutilating by imposing their ignorance.

What I miss, is that the Christmas season is over and we won’t hear those songs any longer sung in church, even with verses altered. I am just uplifted when they are sung…guess I will have to sing them alone in my heart until next year.🙂

No L, no L, no L, no L!

(Sorry. The melody just goes with the syllables.)

😃 😛

In Chicago, when we sing…No EL…it means we have to take the BUS!
