I think one of the telling quotes is:
In other words the teacher is saying that the Church is discriminatory and the best way to fight that discrimination is to do it from within the schools? In other words she thinks that subverting the teachings is appropriate. That is exactly why the pledge needed to be clarified. Hats off to Bishop Barber.

The news article has links to the 2013 contract and the 2014 contract. Reading through them makes my eyes blur and my brain spin. However, the relevant changes seem to be in two sections: Philosophy and Duties.
The 2013 contract lacks a Philosophy section. However, the 2014 contract lays out a mission statement:
The mission of the SCHOOL is to develop and promote teaching the Catholic faith within the philosophy of Catholic education as implemented at the SCHOOL, and the doctrines, laws and norms of the Roman Catholic Church. All of EMPLOYEE’S responsibilities shall be performed within this overarching commitment.
In the Duties section, both the 2013 contract and the 2014 contract made reference to teachers as ministers of the faith. Both contracts mention that teachers are expected to convey the faith by their words and actions. However, the 2014 contract more clearly states that a teacher’s personal life is included in this. Here is the relevant new portion of the Duties:
EMPLOYEE acknowledges that the SCHOOL operates within the philosophy of Catholic education and retains the right to employ individuals who demonstrate an ability to serve in accordance with that philosophy. In both the EMPLOYEE’S personal and professional life, the EMPLOYEE is expected to model and promote behavior in conformity with the teaching of the Roman Catholic faith in matters of faith and morals, and to do nothing that tends to bring discredit to the SCHOOL or to the Diocese of Oakland.
