Since CA is based in Sand Diego, hows about filling us in on Bishop Salvatore J. Cordileone.

MH, my spiritual director who lives on the Peninsula, says this is an excellent selection. Bishop Cordileone will have to live up to his name to handle the dissenters and malcontents in Oakland. :highprayer:

He’s a firecracker, boy, do I envy Oakland (never thought I’d hear myself say that ;)) He managed to survive the heterodox teaching prevalent in the Theology Department of my Alma Mater, and become the canonist and papist he is today. I was hoping he’d get the LA nod eventually.

You’ve been blessed with a YOUNG and unabashedly pro life, pro marriage, prelate. I don’t imagine he’ll be simpatico with the Berkeley mentality.

The locating and appointing of orthodox bishops in the US must be increasingly difficult for the Holy Father. The need grows larger, the pool continues to shrink…Our prayers for our dear Pope Benedict. Long life and good heath to him.
 
What a great appointment. If you check the radio archives, you may be able to find for yourself. He has been a guest on CALive. That should tell you something about him.
 
Let us keep this holy man of God in prayer. He has a daunting task ahead of him. Prayer is the best support we can give him.

LOVE HIM!! Bishop Cordelone is a most excellent choice for Oakland. His first assignment as an associate priest was in my parish, and he is committed more than ever to the Church. He is very active in pro-life and the Vote Yes on Prop 8 campaign. There will be no confusing, wishy-washy communications from his office. Traditional Catholics, REJOICE! Liberal Catholics, BEWARE!
