Washington, DC – The Obama administration announced today that American taxpayers will be forced to fund more research involving embryonic stem cells obtained by destroying human life. The National Institutes of Health announced today that four additional lines will be funded.

I sometimes think if adult stem cells cured every malady known to man, this administration would still fund embryonic stem cell research. They’re so heavily invested in death that one is reminded of that line in MacBeth: “I am so steeped in gore, that returning were as tedious as go o’er”. And, one suspects, the hope is that something might be discovered that would get all the rest of us “steeped in gore” as well, so we would accept it, as this administration and its party accepts it.

I think it’s become quite clear that Obama doesn’t resemble any kind of Christian that I’ve ever known. He’s a phony from the word “go”. He does NOT have Christ guiding his life whatsoever!

Once the fetus has been aborted what’s the harm? Do you feel this will increase abortions?

Can you categorically guarantee that it won’t? Do you know for an absolute certainty that people with “interesting” genetics won’t be paid to do it?

Of course, if one believes human life must be respected from the moment of conception (for all the reasons the religious and the non-religious think that) then there’s really no difference between this and the “human vivisection” experiments conducted by Dr. Mengele and the Japanese in China.

We may want to keep in mind that the blastocysts in question are clusters of 150 cells, arranged in a sphere. There is no spinal cord, no nervous system, and it seems all but certain that this group of cells is not capable of experiencing anything at all, including its own destruction.

We may also want to bare in mind that if you ask any scientist in this field, they will all tell you that stem cell research is the most promising line of research that may lead to cures for a whole slew of horrible afflictions, from various forms of mental atrophy like Alzheimer’s disease, to the treatment of burn victims.

The moral dilemma in front of us is thus; how do we weigh the interests of a group of undifferentiated cells against the interests of a 13-year old girl with severe body burns?

It seems obvious that people who are more concerned with the former don’t have their moral priorities in order.
This really shouldn’t surprise us, as it will always be far easier to pontificate sanctimoniously on a subject than it is to actually try to alleviate human suffering, as our President is trying to do.

All the best,

Jules

Funny, just today I read an article that says that adult stem cells are now showing more promise than embryonic stem cells.
