As you know, President Obama and liberal politicians in Congress are continuing their efforts to reverse decades of pro-life advances. Recently, President Obama produced another health care bill that is actually worse for the pro-life cause than the previous monstrosity that was rejected across our state and nation. The president has clearly not listened to the American people or sought advice from pro-life senators.
Sadly, he has ignored the will of the people and made the previous debacle of a health care bill even worse. As you may know, during Senator Reid’s attempt to garner votes for his health care bill he added a provision that provided $7 billion for Community Health Centers. President Obama increased that figure to $11 billion in his new bill, and he did so without adding the Hyde Amendment that would prevent these centers from using money to pay for abortions. In addition, the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts language was also not included in the new bill, and thus for the first time in more than 30 years federal funds could be used to pay for abortions if this Obamacare bill is signed into law.
It’s despicable that liberal politicians continue to believe the destruction of human life is in any way connected to health care. These radical assaults against the culture of life that we’ve worked so hard to foster show how critical it is that we continue to remain active and vigilant in our fight to promote life. Rest assured, I will continue to fight against the radical agenda of the abortion on demand policies of President Obama and his liberal allies.
