Washington, DC – President Barack Obama has recorded a new video Democrats are using to launch their 2010 election efforts and to mobilize key constituencies. Obama says he wants to reconnect with black, Hispanic and young adult voters but those pro-life groups all may be turned off by Obama’s pro-abortion record.

Many Catholics of all different backgrounds (especially us Cradle Catholics) have not had proper Catechesis.
They may not know they must vote against those promoting the “Culture of Death”. 😦

Their Pastors have a huge educational job on their hands.
They must have all their interested parishoners read the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” as revised in accordance with the official Latin text promulgated by Pope John Paul II, as quickly as possible - in order that they may form a correct voting conscience.

Yes, some of the groups which Obama tries to rally for support of his causes do tend to be groups which are pro-life. But do they realize that he is not? Do they realize that he is the most pro-abortion president that we have had?

The sad thing is that many are afraid to, less they lose their tax exempt status.

Which is sad and a clear indication they do not understand that status.

My understanding is that they are on very solid ground (as much as anything can be in our legal system) so long as they do not say specifically who to vote for. Saying abortion is a grave evil and Catholics must oppose it, including in the voting booth, is not a tax status risk.

Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Nuns, Catholic Theologians and all the rest of us are required to VOTE our moral consciense.
The Catechism states that we have an obligation to vote.

To form a correct conscience, everyone must study the Bible and the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” revised in accordance with the official Latin text promulgated by Pope John Paul II, and first printed in the US in March of 2000, with a glossary and index.
This is from the Magesterium of the Church.

The Bible and this Catechism are the “REQUIRED” beliefs of all those who choose to call themselves Catholic.

Don’t depend on Priests or Nuns to give you a correct conscience.
When you die and go before God you can not point to someone else and say well ‘Father so and so’ or ‘Sister so and so’ told me. Everyone is human and everyone can make mistakes.

As Catholics, you have an obligation to form a correct conscience.
