Child with Chickenpox in Church…
I am afraid that an infection can be spread to other people- especially in Church where are at least some pregnant women and elderly people with weakened immune system. Adults and Babies can get very sick if they get chickenpox- why do kids not have to stay at home when sick???
Some time ago an elderly person with shingles went to Church, as she told everybody about her disease.
Adults who never have had chickenpox might get infected and the symptoms can be more severe among people who catch the infection in an older age. Shingles, is caused by the same virus responsible for chicken pox, Varicella zoster virus. If you have had chicken pox, the virus remains in the body and can reactivate years later. It is not known why, but the virus is triggered as the immune system weakens with age, or in conditions of stress. Shingles cannot be passed from person to person but the zoster virus can be spread from a person with shingles to someone who never had chicken pox. The recipient might develop chicken pox. Is it under this conditions recommended to go to Church when having chicken pox or shingles??
