Is one obligated in justice to receive communion more often when you are more religious?

Or is this optional and the same rules apply?

We should frequent the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. The Church sets a minimum in Church law. But, certainly, we should receive frequently unless we are impeded in some way.

The obligation for every Catholic is the same, to receive communion during the Easter season and to confess all mortal sins once a year.

I suppose the obligation is once a year, but yet can one be bound by a further obligation to receive? From the post before your’s I suppose so, accept in the case of sickness or something.

There is no such obligation. The Church only obligates us to receive the Eucharist at the very least once per year during the Easter season. Other than that, its all up to us.

There is no further obligation but you SHOULD certainly recieve at least once a week.

no Catholic has any more binding obligation than I stated, but why would someone who is growing stronger in faith and intent on growing closer to God not want to receive as often as possible, at least every Sunday, and daily if that is possible? Why speak of this in terms of obligation when it is an act of love? If you are speaking of deliberately receiving twice a day, that betrays lack of understanding of the completeness of your first reception.

The Church’s obligation under Canon Law is that we receive once per year.

Christ provides the Eucharist-- the source and summit-- to us at every Mass. Why would one refrain from receiving unless one had an impediment?
