It is only “natural” for us to be upset and indignant, because others have taught us to be that way and for us to be upset because of the sins of other people. This is the working of the worldly mind, and is the opposite of what Jesus taught. And those who held them to be “above sin” are the ones He had the most harsh words for. This is fact, and you can read the Gospels for yourself and verify it; this is not “popular opinion” which is led by the media as we all ooo and ahhh through the antics of the Pope and the Kardashians, depending on the day, and emote along with the “prescribed feelings” of the group we identify with?
Oh! Ok I understand now. I don’t know why I didn’t pick up on it quicker. No, I’m not upset. I just feel silly for not “getting it” earlier.

Well MS, I’d say your in good company. I have trouble rooting out pride in myself too, join the human race I guess.

Op, don’t feel bad about your feelings, because they are true. Our culture is corrupt and it doesn’t even know how corrupt it is. I feel as you do, I see the evil and I do what I can to stay away from it. Kind of like being in this world but not of it. Hang out with other good Catholics and do your best to limit your time with anyone who would tempt you to sin. Its human nature to get influenced by other people so best to spend your time with people who help strengthen you faith and not weaken it in any way. God bless.
Thank you for your kind words. Bless you too.🙂

Moreover, I congratulate you and thank God for helping you to realize how sinful our culture is. I think that this realization is not in any way ill-founded and, so long as you don’t go around looking down on others, it is absolutely an essential realization insofar as existing in our culture is concerned.
Thank you AttendeDomine. And I honestly don’t look down on anybody. I am grateful to our Lord that I finally saw the light and came out of the darkness, but I feel no pride in that at all. I feel ashamed that I was blind for so long, and content to be so. Now I feel blessed and strive to overcome my own sinful nature and pray for those who are still in the dark like I was. I’m not better than them, since I am one of them. We are all sinners, but we can’t seek forgiveness while we are still in the dark, since we know not what we do. So we, who do know The Way, all need to pray for each other and for those who haven’t found the way yet. And in this culture The Way is more, and more hidden in the darkness. For instance, in my OP I said that people had decided to embrace their animalistic instincts and were blind to what was holy. I didn’t say this as a judgement, I said this because that is their, was my ,excuse for their (my) behavior. (An excuse almost always made in a profane way) Nothing is a “sin” since we are all animals and we need to listen to our instincts, not to what some imaginary flying spaghetti monster said in a made up fairy tale that only morons would believe. I always believed in God, but right before my reversion, that belief was hanging by a very thin thread. I had not only become numb to sin, but I was really buying the idea that we are just highly evolved animals, an accident of evolution no better or worse than a rat or a roach. Did a rat need a God? Did a human? Why? To put unnecessary restrictions on us and give rise to bigoted religions like Christianity. I was nearly fully in the bag with this line of thinking when something miraculous happened in my life and, thanks be to God, I began my journey out of the darkness. A darkness I am always in danger of falling back into and I pray that others find their way out too. I was just trying to express that in my OP, and I suppose it was not as coherent as it should’ve been.

Wow, this is an amazing answer. I am humbled by your simple and positive reply to all of my ranting. 😊

Thank you for sticking with me on it, and I hope it was useful. 🙂

Peace and joy,
MS
