 I have a First Class Relic of Our Beloved Blessed Dominic Barberi. This is how I obtained the First Class Relic which is a chip of bone from Blessed Dominic Barberi.

 Back in the 1960's when my brother was going to enter the seminary, a priest from Rome gave him a relic in a small case enclosed velvet gold round display.  The priest told my brother to always keep this with him as he study to become a priest.  A few years later my brother decided to change what he wanted to do with his life.  During the mean time he kept the relic in a case.  Now,  35 years later as I the youngest felt the call to become a Franciscan Friar.  My brother knowing this gave me the relic to keep with me when I entered the monastery.  As I took my test it turned out that due to my health I could not be accepted.  As of today, I'm 53 and still have the relic in my procession.  A First Class Relic is something you cannot buy no matter what you hear or have been told.  Some say, Oh, you can get one off of Ebay.  This is NOT true.  So many that are sold on Ebay are fakes.  Unless you know of a priest or parish that is willing to give you a First Class Relic is to enter the order and give your life to God.  The relic I hold will be sent to Rome in the event of my death.  Also, the relic is kept in a safe deposit box at the bank and not in my home where break in's etc can occur.  The only time I take the relic out is to celebrate Christmas and Easter Mass which I hold in my hand during mass.  I do however sell Third Class Relics which means a item that has been touched to a First Class Relic.  I do this NOT during bidding but after the item has been won and just before it is shipped.  So now you know that First Class Relics cannot be purchased as if it were a car or boat.  It's an item from a person that God has chosen to do his work in this world.  I hope you do not continue your search for one for in the end you will only be disappointed and out of so much money for a item that really isn't.  I recommend that you learn more about this from your Priest or higher up.  Seek the Third Class relics that will help bring you Peace in the world.  Pax et Bonum

Actually, I keep all of my relics in custody in a metal box. In my death, I shall pass these relics to another responsible person. Do not send it back to Rome, as they will still return it.
 
First Class Relics are quite rare, and as most of us know should NEVER be sold, although they do change hands by selling the reliquary and providing the relic as a gift. This appears to be legitimate.

Usually relics are passed down from family memebers or gifted to someone. I recently had a relic gifted to me by a 92 year old gentleman who felt it was time to pass it on to someone who is responible enough to safeguard it and treat it with respect. I will educate my children about this as well.

The revised 1983 Code of Canon Law declares in the strongest language possible," “It is absolutely forbidden to sell sacred relics” (Canon #1190). This strong language only appears elsewhere in the Code to describe sins against the Blessed Sacrament, forced ordination and priests breaking the seal of confession.

Yeah I’ve only heard of a Few peolple or a family receiving a first class relic. I have two second class relics one Bl. Teresa of Calcutta, & Bl. John Paul II and a third class relic of Venerable Solanus Casey. The two second class relics are small pieces of their habits.
 
I had a first class relic of St. Dominic. I had been offered a rather handsome sum for it but I knew it would be wrong to sell it. Besides, such a treasure cannot be priced. Instead, I donated the relic to my Church and it was put on display for all to see and properly venerate.

However, someone broke into the Church and stole the relic! How I would love to have it returned or replaced! The relic was contained in a crucifix and attached to white cut glass Rosary beads which I had strung for the display. I felt that since the modern Rosary was given to us by our Holy Mother through St. Dominic it was a very appropriate display. The Crucifix is about two inches or so long, made of wood. The back is metal and opens with a small thumb screw on the bottom.

If anyone happens to hear of such a thing I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Ill, cut to the chase, my Google search for the word “Relics” took me here and I seems to see people in some post say that they are custodians of 1st class relics. I’m trying to get some first class relics for our cause because we are trying to promote and bring back the Extraordinary form of the Roman rite. The church itself would not lend us the relics because they say that the reliquaries are too valuable. I tried writing to lot of convents and of all the letter i wrote, maybe more than a hundred, only one gave me a positive response and sent me a first class relic. So, any tips on who to write to for this poor student? Thank you ever so kindly. Godspeed.
 
First class relics are for sacred veneration (held in deep respect; revered, honor in recognition of qualities of holiness, excellence, wisdom, etc. NOT worshiped!) and are not to be bandied about as if some prized collectible. There can be no need to have to “borrow” a first class relic. They belong in places where they can be protected and preserved and held in reverence.

It seems it would be easier for you to devote your self to the love of God, why bring back an ancient rite. Go out and be a saint yourself. Be that man that Jesus describes when he describes “the one who believes in me…” Become a man who BELIEVES whats in the bible and Acts on it.
 
Im just going to clarify that I am searching for relics not for private devotion and veneration but for them to be used in the extraordinary for of the latin rite, sometimes refered to as tridentine rite.

Because, As Pope Benedict said, some people, both young and old alike “felt its attraction and found in it a form of encounter with the mystery of the Eucharist particularly suited to them.”

I, along with a static group of more or less 50 people (might be more, I dont keep count), are clamoring more it.
 
I currently have a first class relic of St. Padre Pio. It is a piece of the glove he wore over his stigmata with his blood in it. I keep it in my wallet. It’s a tradition at my high school that someone who is praying about their vocation gets it for a school year. The first person to have it is now a sister, the next two are seminarians, and I feel called to the married life :D. Excited and yet a little sad for graduation and when I have to pass it on.

I am sorry, but the OP and I were discussing this elsewhere. I think you should take particular note whether the person this is addressed to is involved in the “resurrection” before you say this to anyone.
