I didn’t know where else to ask this question, as no other category applied. I was messing around with my friend’s 8 ball the other day, and as soon as I did it, I panicked. I was not thinking at all, but yet asked a serious question, whether or not I was pregnant. I take this sort of thing very seriously, and want to know if this was on the same level as using the Ouija Board for instance?

I wouldn’t say it was on the same level as using a Ouija Board. The 8 ball toys…well, I’ve never seen them as anything other than a little toy, only a step up from those paper triangle things that kids made when I was in elementary school.

I think the important thing is that you said “I was not thinking at all”. Your intent wasn’t to get information from the supernatural, but just playing around with it. I’d say don’t worry about it. But if you legitimately thought that it would provide you with information, and attributed some supernatural power to it like a Ouija Board, then yeah, there would definitely be a problem. But that’s just me. Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards…those things I have a problem with. But I’ve never seen those magic 8 balls as anything more than a little toy.

The 8 Ball is a toy, that’s all. The Ouija Board should be avoided.

Relax,
Ed

Just beware of Nine Ball. I lost a lot of money that way .

In this case, intent is key. If you use an 8-ball as some sort of magical device and intend to ask serious questions and get real answers, that would be a problem. But it is much different to joke around, be funny, or be just kidding around.

Right.

Expecting the device to answer your inquiry is divination. That’s a no-no.
