Many years ago I dabbled in the occult. One very vivid vision was of a dark haired, pale complexioned woman sitting on a throne in a subterranean chamber, surrounded by a group of hand maidens similar in appearance but less “real”. The woman offered me a chalice containing blood to drink and gave me a “word of power”. I’m belatedly beginning to realise that this was a parody of Our Lady and of the Mass.

Lots of strange things have been occurring of late as I approach entry into the Catholic church this Easter and literally within the last few days this vision has started to manifest again. I would be lying if I said it wasnt unnerving. After an enormous wobble of faith I’m praying madly to Christ and to Our Lady and I think I’ll talk to the priest when I meet him on Tuesday.

I have no doubt that you are under attack. Satan does not want to let you go! Keep praying, and ask your sponsor and your priest to pray with you and for you. Perhaps it would be appropriate for you to receive Reconciliation sooner than the rest of the class (there’s no reason you can’t go more than once!) Possibly your priest, if he is not comfortable with spiritual warfare, may know of someone else in the area who is gifted in that ministry. (Not all have the same gifts, even among the ordained . . . )

Don’t be afraid to rebuke that vision on your own, either - say firmly “In the Name of Jesus, get out!” and then turn your mind to things which are of God. Ask Our Lady to crush the serpent’s head for you. Fill your mind with Christian music and images. Invoke the Holy Spirit to defend you.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12.

Many here are praying for you and with you. When you have overcome you will be a powerful witness for the Lord. :signofcross:

I ask the Angels to surround you continually.

I ask St Michael who led the two thirds of the Angels those who remained faithful to God, to help win this battle in you.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Blessed Mother please pray for this person’s heart, mind, soul, and body.

Jesus please lay Your hands upon this person to cleanse and heal the effects of past attachments.

Yes, a good idea to speak to your priest to let him know the battle you’re fighting.🙂

God bless you! I thank and praise God for His kindness to you!
I think that to praise God often every day will help you. 🙂

Supposing there is some lingering evil spirit… we are advised not to address any evil spirit directly. We are advised to ask Jesus to cast anything like that out or to seek out the appropriate priest.

Are you already baptised or will you be baptised when you join the Church? If so, the Sacrament should free you, if there is any need for that,
as we read in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

1237 Since Baptism signifies liberation from sin and from its instigator the devil, one or more exorcisms are pronounced over the candidate. The celebrant then anoints him with the oil of catechumens, or lays his hands on him, and he explicitly renounces Satan. Thus prepared, he is able to confess the faith of the Church, to which he will be “entrusted” by Baptism

It’s possible that old habits are affecting you but if you think it’s something serious…

The Code of Canon Law © 1983
Can. 1172 §1 No one may lawfully exorcise the possessed without
the special and express permission of the local ordinary.
§2 This permission is to be granted by the local Ordinary only to a priest
who is endowed with piety, knowledge, prudence and integrity of life.

However, Baptism, if you are to be Baptised, and Confession, and Holy Communion should heal these difficulties. In any case, in the Easter ceremonies we ronounce satan and all his works…so better things await you!

God bless you. 🙂

I don’t quite understand why the Fallen attempt to mock us this way. Has it not been pushing you all the more to come back to the Faith? Puzzling.

By the way, your vision, is it while you sleep, or are awake? Is it vividly real, no different from common everyday events? Or dreamlike?

If you have an opportunity, either in your parish or a neighboring parish, to participate in Eucharistic Adoration, please do so. Visit as often as you can. Sit with our Lord and ask for help and strength.

Ask the Blessed Mother to crush the head of the serpent that is attacking you and ask her to protect you from evil and sin.

Lastly, pray this prayer daily… Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the other evil spirits that prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Good luck to you. I’ll say prayers for you. When you come into full communion with the Church, you will be able to receive Our Lord, physically, in the Eucharist and that will be your strength and salvation.

👍

This was all in my past. I am dismayed that something so long ago has resurfaced but I am resolutely facing towards the light. My focus is on Christ. I realise I have let something evil into my life but I am no longer afraid. I know Christ will protect me and care for me. I repudiate all evil.

Eucharisted posted a thread praying for those to baptised and included you

So the following applies to you, and if anything unwelcome is attached to you…well. you’re freed from any genuine harm by Baptism. 🙂

God bless you…Trishie

I’m already baptised…I will be fine…everyone is praying for me…I have faith in Christ and his Church. I have prayed to Our Lady for her protection and I believe she will not allow harm to come to me.

I’d recommend you go to a Catholic religious store or google the many online ones and get a 5 way or 4 way religious medal. These are a combination Scapular (Sacred-heart of Jesus & Immaculate Heart of Mary), Miraculous medal, St. Joseph and St. Christopher with the dove in the center representing the Holy Spirit. Get it blessed by any priest or deacon and start wearing it. This is heavy weight spiritual fire power.

Also get some holy water from any church (which is available in a holy water fount or bulk dispenser - can get plastic or glass containers from any religious store) and sprinkle a little on each wall of the house in every room and on the doors and windows. Pray to Jesus and St. Michael for the protection of your house. Also keep some at your bedside and bless yourself each morning and evening.

The best way to spank the devil is every single time you get tormented or attacked to make it an occasion for causing him spiritual agony himself so he will stop; and that is to use his attacks as an occasion for prayer. He eventually gets wise to the fact that every time he attacks you he pains himself and stops (he is not stupid). Then after you are received into the CC go on offense and pray daily for the conversion of souls and make him know why he was so afraid of you converting. 😃

As I said in your other thread, these realizations and events seem to be something holding you back from moving towards the faith. I would say this to what I know of your vision so far… do NOT take anything from the woman in your vision, even under the rationale that it might be “just a dream.” If it is a case of true occult vision, this could be one method of satan’s seeking to earn your subconscious acceptance of his black “sacrament” in place of the Eucharist. I’ll repeat: **do NOT accept anything that one of these visions offers you. **If you already have in one of these visions, you must now stop accepting anything… especially things which supplant the true faith and sacraments.

When you are afflicted with this vision, I would alternate between saying the two following prayers:
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle,
be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
Or if you can’t remember those ones, fall back on the old staple: the guardian angel prayer:
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side:
To light, to guard, to rule and guide.
Amen
Repeat as many times as needed until the vision fades. Focus on Christ and the power of God to slay evil.

This seems to be getting out of hand. I met with my sponsor tonight and she’s not sure if she is capable of continuing with me. On Sunday I went through a Rite of Scrutiny which involves a prayer of exorcism and the priest laying on of hands to drive out evil spirits. She, who had her hand on my right shoulder, claims to have felt “something” very powerful, the Deacon saw something but she wont tell me what and the priest struggled with something. Not only that but apparently a good lot of the congregation sensed something.

I cant believe this…it is so much MY life…NEVER normal. I feel like some kind of leper. I’m to meet with the priest tomorrow. That’ll be interesting. In the meantime I’ll keep up with the prayers. Strangely I feel fine despite everything…positive and determined.I’m hoping that the priest will here my confession.

My sponsor is a very powerful woman. A former nun who realised that her vocation lay elsewhere. I cant help but feel that she, and my priest have both come into my life at the right moment. Anyone reading this must think I’m mad. I’m not.

Black Dog,

I’ve been sitting here today wanting to go to Mass, but being too lazy to get off of my rear and head to Church. I just finished reading through this thread and the other one and you have inspired me to get up and get to Mass. I will stay after Mass and pray a Rosary for you, my friend in Christ. Hang in there, it is a narrow path, but the rewards are eternal.

In His Peace,

Brad

I don’t think you’re mad at all. Keep moving forward, my friend! There is no living repentant soul that the catholic church and God do not wish to have eternal salvation.

Pray. A lot. It helps, really.

Phew…I never thought I would inspire anyone to go to Mass. Thank you so much for that and for your prayers. I have tonight to get through then I’ll be at Mass tomorrow and then meet with the priest afterwards.

Still praying for you and for all those around you. Lord Jesus, set your hedge of protection around these faithful Christians. Raise up a powerful witness to your glory out of this struggle.

Is there any significance to your name “Black Dog”?

My friend in Christ,

I made it to Mass, prayed a Rosary and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for you. No thanks to me, but rather thanks to you and the Holy Spirit for picking me up and inspiring me to get to Mass today. Remember, as Fr. John Corapi says, “God’s name is Mercy.” Don’t be so hard on yourself. As miserable as we are at times, God is infinitely more merciful.

Use the Jesus prayer, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” You can pray this as you breathe, whenever you are going through any trials, this is a simple prayer to keep you on the narrow path.

We are praying for you.
