I had a dream a couple weeks ago. In the dream, I was in a workshop working with wood (which is odd for me to do). In the dream, I was hammering a nail into a wooden board. I looked away for a second, and when I looked back, the wood was now a Bible.
“I was hammering a nail right through the Word of God,” was the first thought in my mind. What bothered me the most, however, was the fact that I didn’t want to stop because I would feel “stupid” (because people were watching me and expecting me to do it).

Don’t you see you were imitating Christ by being a carpenter and using a bible? 😉

Dreams are often the result of our fears, desires and other concerns. Your dream could be tentatively explained as the result of a feeling of guilt that you were afraid in some way to stand up for your Christian principles in front of other people because they expected you to behave otherwise… That is only an example. I’m not a psychiatrist and probably mistaken!

It was just a dream, I wouldn’t worry too much over it…

I agree with the other posters. Dreams are fragmentary constructions of our minds trying to make sense of electronic “noise”. In other words, while you sleep, your mind refreshes and clears some of its unneeded memory state. This includes random electrical impulses, which may be interpreted by the brain in various forms of dreams.

While dreams generally have little, if any, meaning, I think there is a theological lesson to be had out of this one (if nothing else): Christ died for OUR sins. Not just some corporate sense of the word, but as a personal matter as well. Every time we sin, we drive a nail into Christ (the word of God), putting Him on the Cross for our transgressions. The whole of the world, eternally, is guilty of that act (with the exception of Mary, of course!). AAAAND… the world pushes us to continue to sin. It’s expected that we go out and behave in certain ways which are not good for our souls… in other words, it’s expected that we continue to hammer the nail into the Word of God. Meh, just a thought about a random interpretation your brain selected for some random electrical signals…

Like many people at certain times in our lives we have vivid dreams that impose themselves on our conciseness and some times we may have a lucid dream a common one is that of flying. Fifty years ago I would have had this type of dream several times over a one-year period. When you become lucid in a dream, which I believe is more common than we realise we find ourselves in a situation that we are not accustomed to, it is exhilarating and different we are normally aware that we are dreaming but at different levels of awareness because they are so rare we don’t retain the presence of mind to take advantage of the opportunity to analyse what is taking place or cultivate the ability to remain within the dream.
By nature I am inquisitive and tend to question everything I am very aware of anomalies in nature, structure, people and form. This questioning often remains active within my consciousness within the dream state. Apart from this there are other factors I will give a few examples and will categorise them under the three headings.

Dreams of fear, to me of confrontation
Dreams of questioning
Dreams of habit.

I am a practising Christian one of the precepts of Christ’s teaching we take from the words “Do not be afraid have faith” to me this is the path to true liberation of spirit I try to practice this in my daily life and to some degree it has become part of my inner self
.
Dreams of fear and confrontation

E.g. (a) I am being attacked by a pack of dogs, terrified I say to myself do not be afraid, face it, fear leaves presence of mind ensues. I feel intense joy, liberation of spirit. I walk in dreams

I can continue but what I have written so far represent’s about 10% of this thesis if you want me to continue please state so and I will
