Odd Easter Mass

You know, I really think God has a sense of humor. It is fine with me if they wanted to bring in the Easter Bunny for the kids to talk about Easter! I would just be careful that the bunny does not give a full homily nor perform the sacred duties of the priest.

Personally I would have had a :bigyikes: reaction if I had encountered that Easter Bunny outside of a Mass/Church setting.

At least Der Osterhase was not vested as a cleric …

There seems to be no end to the “creativity” one sees at the Mass.

That said, before utter shock sets in, does anyone understand when this took place? If my rusty German serves me, Der Osterhase first appeared just before this final blessing, and reappeared afterward. If that’s correct, at least this was done at the end of the Mass, showing perhaps a bit of decorum.

I would pull an Elmer Fudd on them and I would try to shoot the Wackiki Wabbit. 😃

This is a disgrace to the Mass. The priest should not have turned the ambo over to him and the priest should not have added to the Mass. There is an ordo to the Mass, and this isn’t it. The disregard for the rules leads to this and worse. This is the highest Solemnity of the year, Easter Sunday. They, including the children, should be rejoicing in the Resurrection of the Lord. Pray for Europe and pray for ourselves. We have had our own clown Masses, but most of that was 20 or 30 years ago.

Wie schade! Not only was that the ugliest Easter bunny costume I’ve even seen, but that hideous chasuble certainly does not qualify as white or gold. Why anyone, let alone someone in a stupid costume (possibly the pastor?), would be making intercessory prayers at the end of Mass is beyond me. I hope this young man’s bishop comes down hard on him.

Yes, I was thinking, that chasuble is simply hideous. It’s funny because I flip through catalogs sometimes and the awful oversized sleepingbag polyester/rayon vestments with horrid designs always cost at least twice as much as the better ones.

We should pray for him.

The “Easter Bunny” came out to pray the bidding prayers. So right smack in middle of the Mass, after the creed, before the prayers over the gifts.

Catholicism in Austria and Germany has so many problems these days…

Man, I love my Society parish more and more. Instead of worrying about us, maybe Rome should be more concerned about ‘normalizing’ places like this.
