Some say the same thing about Rome…
Apple & Oranges.

There really are very big problems in Germany & Austria. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that large swathes of the Church there have completely apostatized.

There are good Catholics, good parishes, good priests in German-speaking Europe, but the problems there are monumental – things are much worse than they are here in the USA.

Utter sacrilege!

Cor Iesu, miserere nobis.
Cor Iesu, miserere nobis.
Cor Iesu, miserere nobis.

Sancte Pie Decime, ora pro nobis!

At least Der Osterhase was not vested as a cleric …

There seems to be no end to the “creativity” one sees at the Mass.

That said, before utter shock sets in, does anyone understand when this took place? If my rusty German serves me, Der Osterhase first appeared just before this final blessing, and reappeared afterward. If that’s correct, at least this was done at the end of the Mass, showing perhaps a bit of decorum.
He was reading the prayers of the faithful.
When I first looked at the video I thought: Great, something stupid like that just has to be in my country !:o
But no, it’s in Austria, that explains a lot! We consider them to be a bit strange in the head.
Considering all the other things going on in the church in Austria I’m really not surprised!

Yes, I caught that in my second pass with the video, as the children were responding. Thanks for the clarification.

Perhaps well intended, but rather unfortunate. It appears that there is no end in sight to such. We in the U.S. tend to think the state of liturgical norm is worse here, but looks like there’s plenty going on elsewhere.

So eine Schande!
